“The Jews” in the New Testament, part 2 of 4

Crucifixion Was Roman and Not Jewish: The Roman mode of capital punishment was crucifixion and the Jewish mode was stoning. How then can Christians claim that the Jews killed Jesus since Jesus died of crucifixion?

A Rabbi once told about growing up in a predominantly Roman Catholic neighborhood where the Roman Catholic children would taunt the Jewish children with words to the likes of, “You Jews killed Jesus!” The Rabbi says that the Jewish children used to retort, “No you killed Jesus, you are, after all, Roman Catholic.” This is a great retort to employ against the malicious ignoramus.

At the time of Jesus, only Rome had the official authority to exercise capital punishment. In fact, once Rome took the power of capital punishment away from the Jewish authority—the Sanhedrin—the Rabbis took it as a sign that the Messiah was to come soon. Incidentally, orthodox-traditional-normative Judaism believes that the Messiah should have come at the time of Jesus, but for some reason did not appear; I evidence this fact in my essay When Was the Messiah Expected?

Sometimes Jesus was asked questions in order to trap Him in a catch 22; a false dichotomy. The case of the woman caught in adultery was such a case. This is because if Jesus had said, “Yes, let’s go on and stone her to death,” then the Rabbinic authorities could have gone to the Romans and turned Him in for breaking Roman law. On the other hand, if Jesus would have said, “No, we may not stone her,” then the Rabbinic authorities could have accused Him of breaking the law of Moses. Clearly, either way He would lose by either breaking Roman or Jewish law—what to do?

What He did is to say, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone” (John 8:7). He therefore, did not break either law and He made a point about considering our own sins and not only those of others.

Please note carefully that I stated that only Rome had the official authority to exercise capital punishment. To think that since stoning was illegal it was never practiced is tantamount stating that since murder is illegal in the USA no one ever commits murder. In fact, there is a particularly interesting case of a stoning that is recorded in the New Testament. When Stephen was killed he was taken “outside of the city” where “they stoned him” (Acts 7:58). Apparently, they took him outside of the city in order to avoid detection by the Roman authorities.

Who is Responsible for Jesus’ Death?:
There are at least five aspects to this answer that I can think of and they are as follows:

1. The Primary responsibility it God the Father’s. This is because “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

2. No one would have killed Him if He had not wanted them to. This is a succinct way of getting at the point that Jesus came to show by word and example how we should live and to pay the price for our sins. He specifically stated that no one takes His life from Him because He gave it for us (John 10:18). Thus, Jesus is responsible for His own death as He willingly succumbed to it.

3. I am responsible for the death of Jesus since He died for me.

4. As stated above; it is imperative to understand that when the New Testament uses the term “the Jews” it is very clear contextually that it is referring to the Jewish religious authority. The reason that “the Jews” wanted Jesus to be killed is that they considered Him a heretic, a false teacher, false prophet and therefore, according to the law of “the Jews,” He should be put to death.

5. Romans allowed those whom they conquered to maintain their own culture / religion as long as it did not interfere with the Pax Romana—the Roman peace. At the time of Jesus there were people known as Zealots who were the insurgents of the time and rallied Jews to fight against Roman rule. These were certainly persecuted by Rome because they would not allow a movement that opposed Roman rule. But the reason that Rome was not initially the least bit interested in Jesus is that they were not concerned about a Jewish teacher who was dealing with theological issues. This is why Pontius Pilate urged “the Jews” to give Jesus a trial under Jewish authority; since the charge was one of theological heresy.

Now, once Pilate found out that Jesus claimed to be the King of the Jews Rome got involved because this would obviously conflict with the rule of the Caesars. On the cross upon which a person was crucified the Romans would post a tablet describing the person’s crime against Rome. The one over Jesus read Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews—this is what Rome would not tolerate.

messianic20judaism2c20jewish2c20messiah-9749436

What if I said that I was going to go to a certain country to help the oppressed? Someone might tell me that I should not go because a lot of people who had done what I want to do have been murdered by the oppressors. If I go and I am murdered: who caused my death? Ultimately, I did because I chose to go knowing the risks. But could we really say that the oppressors were not at all responsible? No, because they had a role in my death as well. Therefore, could it be said that “the Jews” killed Jesus? Yes, the Rabbinic authority of that time wanted Him executed as a heretic. Could it be said that the Romans killed Jesus? Yes, because they would not tolerate any challenge to the rule of the Caesars. Could it be said that I caused Jesus’ death? Yes, because He did it for me. Could it be said that God the Father was responsible for Jesus’ death? Yes, because He gave Jesus to the world. Could it be said that Jesus was responsible for His own death? Yes, because that was part of His purpose.

Jesus said of Himself,

“For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve-and to give his life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).

John tells us that when Jesus said,

“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again…But the ‘temple’ he had spoken of was his body” (John 2:19-21).

And,

“This is why my Father loves me, because I lay down my life-in order to take it up again! No one takes it away from me; on the contrary, I lay it down of my own free will. I have the power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it up again. This is what my Father commanded me to do” (John 10:17-18).

The Jewish people are not Christ killers rather, they are Christ givers. Jesus said that “salvation comes from the Jews” (John 4:22).

Angels in Babylonian Talmud aka Talmud Bavli’s tractate Sabbath

Herein we prove quotations and citations on Angels from the Babylonian Talmud aka Talmud Bavli. The fuller complete result consists of quotations of those sections within the text that refer to Angels, Cherubim, Seraphim, Devil, Satan, demons, serpent and dragon. The point is not to elucidate these references but to provide relevant partial quotations and citations. See my section on Angels here, Cherubim and Seraphim here, Satan here and Demons here.
The Talmud consists of a combination of the Mishnah (oral traditions) put into writing circa 200 AD and the Gemara (the commentary on the Mishnah) put into writing circa 500 AD.
There are many terms used within the Talmud that will surely be unfamiliar to the general public. Yet, this does not diminish from the context of noting wherein references are made to paranormal entities. Two things to note may be that “R.” refers to Rabbi, “b.” to ben which is Hebrew for son and is used within a person’s name and “tractate” refers to section. That which follows is from Michael L. Rodkinson’s 1819 AD translation.

I And also R. Johanan: “The Angels of service do not listen to one’s prayer in the Aramaic tongue, for they know not that language.”

V Thus said the Holy One, blessed be He, to Gabriel: “Go and set the mark (the Hebrew letter Tabh) in ink upon the foreheads of the righteous, that the Angels of destruction have no power over them; and the same mark in blood upon the foreheads of the wicked, that the Angels of destruction may have power over them”…

An objection was raised: One of the teachers said: The Angels (once) said to the Holy One, blessed be He: “Lord of the Universe! Why didst Thou punish Adam with death?” The Lord answered: “Because I gave him a light commandment, and he failed to observe it.” The Angels again said unto Him: “Why did Moses and Aaron die.? Did they not observe all the laws of the Torah?” And He answered [Eccl. ix. 2]: “The same fate befalls the righteous as the wicked.” Hence death is not the result of sin!…

The Tana who related the legend of the Angels holds that Moses and Aaron also died in consequence of original sin…

R. Jehudah said in Samuel’s name…At the time Solomon took in wedlock Pharaoh’s daughter (the Angel) Gabriel came down and planted a cane in the sea…There is yet another [great penitent] in our own time, and he is Ukban b. Ne’hemiah, the Exilarch. “Once while studying,” said R. Joseph, “I dozed off and saw in a dream an Angel stretching out his hands and accepting his (Ukban’s) repentance.”
A footnote after the word “Exilarch” which reads, in part, “The text states: ‘And that is Nathan of Zuzitha and Rashi tried to explain the word Zuzitha ‘with sparks,’ or because the Angel took him by the Zizith (locks) of his head.’”

IX R. Simai lectured: “At that time, when Israel answered to the information of Moses, ‘We will do and we will obey,’ six hundred thousand Angels had furnished to every one of Israel two crowns: one for the answer ‘We will do,’ and one for the answer ‘We will obey.’ Thereafter when Israel sinned (with the Golden Calf) twelve hundred thousand destroying Angels descended and took them away; as it is written [Exodus, xxxiii. 6]: ‘The children of Israel then stripped themselves of their ornaments (they wore) from (the time they were at) Mount Horeb'”…

R. Elazar said: At the time the Israelites said “We will do” and afterward “We will obey” a heavenly voice (Bath-kol) was heard, which said unto them: “Who unfolded unto my children this mystery known only to the Angels?” For it is written [Psalms, ciii. 20]: “Bless the Lord, ye his Angels, mighty in strength, that execute his word, hearkening unto the voice of his word,” and from this we see that only Angels can execute first and then obey…

The Lord answered: “He came to receive the Torah.” Said the Angels again: “Wouldst Thou give a precious thing that Thou hast preserved since nine hundred and seventy-four generations before the creation of the world to a being of flesh and blood?…

Moses then said to the Angels: Were ye in Egypt? Have ye served Pharaoh? Of what use can the Torah be unto you? Further, what is written in the Torah [Ex. xx. 3]: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”…

Then the Angels confessed and praised the Holy One, blessed be He, as it is written [Psalms, viii. 10]: “O Eternal One, our Lord, how excellent is thy name on all the Earth!” but the ending of the verse [ibid. 2], “Thou who hast set thy majesty above the heavens,” is not cited in this verse. Then every one of the Angels befriended Moses and each of them disclosed some mystery to him, as it is written [Psalms, lxviii. 19]: “Thou didst ascend on high, lead away captives, receive gifts among men,” which means that because at first the Angels called Moses one born of a woman (man), they at the close gave him gifts, and even the Angel of Death disclosed a mystery to him, as it is written [Num. xvii. 12 and 13]: “And he put on the incense, and made an atonement for the people. And he stood between the dead and the living.” Now if the Angel of Death had not disclosed unto Moses this mystery, how could he have imparted it to Aaron?

XVI R. Hisda in the name of Mar Uqba said: “He who on the Sabbath recites the prayer commencing with, ‘Thus were finished,’ etc., has the hands of the two Angels who accompany each man laid on his head, and they say to him [Isaiah vi. 7]: ‘And thy iniquity is departed and thy sin is forgiven.'” We have learned in a Boraitha: R. Jose bar Jehudah said: “Two Angels accompany a man on the Sabbath eve on his way home from the house of prayer; one is a good Angel and the other an evil one; and when the man comes home and finds the candles lit, the table set, and his bed made up, the good Angel says: ‘May it be the will of God that the next Sabbath shall be the same,’ and the evil Angel answers ‘Amen’ involuntarily. If, however, the man does not find everything in order, the evil Angel says: ‘Mayst thou find it so on the next Sabbath also,’ and the good Angel answers against his own will: ‘Amen.'”

XXIII Samuel said: The souls of the righteous, of the ordinary men, and of the wicked are given over to the Angel whose name is Domah, who has charge of all souls. The souls of the righteous are given their resting-place soon; the others are not given rest until they come before the divine judgment.

In the next segment, we will consider tractates Erubin and Pesachim.

Angels in the Psalms Targum

Herein we continue, from part 1, part 2, considering Angels in the Targumim. The Targumim, plural of Targum (Strong’s H8638 meaning interpret as in Ezra 4:7), are Aramaic paraphrases of the Old Testament that began to be produced beginning at the time of the Second Temple period (530 BC and 70 AD).

Psalm 65:2 Before you praise is considered as silence, O God, whose presence is in Zion, and vows will be paid to you.
A footnote after the word “praise” states, “Silence: + of Angels.”

Psalm 68:11, 18 You caused your vigor to go back to it; you appointed a troop of Angels to do good to the poor of God…The chariots of God are two myriads of burning fire, two thousand Angels guiding them; the presence of the Lord rests on them, on the mountain of Sinai, in holiness.

Psalm 69:35 Let the Angels of heaven and those who dwell on Earth praise him; the seas, and all that swarms in them.

Psalm 86:8 There is none besides you among the Angels on high, O Lord, and there is nothing like your deeds.

Psalm 89:7-8, 49 For who in the clouds can be set beside the Lord? Who resembles the Lord in the multitudes of Angels? God is mighty in the mysteries of the holy ones; sitting on the throne of glory, great and fearsome over all the Angels who stand around him…Who is the man who will live and not see the Angel of death, who will deliver his soul from his hand, and not go down to his grave forever?

Psalm 89:6 And the heavens[52] will confess your wonders, O Lord; also your truth in the assembly of the holy ones.
A footnotes after the word “heavens” reads “Heavens: Angels of heaven.”

Psalm 91:5, 11 Be not afraid of the terror of demons who walk at night, of the arrow of the Angel of death that he looses during the day…For he will command his Angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

Psalm 96:1 Sing in the presence of the Lord a new psalm; sing praise, Angels of the height, sing praise in the presence of the Lord, all righteous of the Earth.

Psalm 97:6 The Angels of the height will tell of his righteousness, and all the peoples will see his glory.

Psalm 103:20 Bless the name of the Lord, O his Angels, who are mighty in power, who do his word, to obey the sound of his word.

As has been elucidated in various articles found with the Serpent Seed category: the Bible does speak the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman. Yet, it does not, in any way, relate seed of the serpent to Cain being the result of Eve having sex with Satan.

In fact, since the serpent seed of Satan theory is not biblical, promulgators, such as those listed below, have different ideas as to who the seedlines / bloodlines are.

Clifton A. Emahiser’s special notice to all who deny two seedline #6, part 1 of 2

Under consideration is Clifton A. Emahiser’s Special Notice To All Who Deny Two Seedline, #6 (he has written a couple dozen of these). Note that I previously wrote Clifton A. Emahiser’s “Two Seedline” racism part 1 and part 2.

clifton20a-20emahiser-4657898
Clifton A. Emahiser

Speaking for myself: I am pro the Bible’s depiction of the seedlines but against the serpent seedline of Satan theorist’s depiction of the same. The Bible depicts the two seedlines as being those who commit sinful actions and those who commit godly actions. However, the theorists’ view is, as Emahiser puts it, “the proposition that there is a literal walking, talking, genetic Satanic seedline people in this world.”

He plays the victimhood card in asserting that “the anti-seedliners were the first to make an issue of this teaching. Stephen E. Jones, in his 1978 book The Babylonian Connection [between ancient and modern religions], was the first, to my knowledge, to take issue with the Two Seedliners. (Jeffrey A. Weakley wrote his The Satanic Seedline, Its Doctrine and History in 1994.)…Ted R. Weiland came out with a ten-tape audiocassette series Eve, Did She Or Didn’t She?

In answering his own question as to why he is writing the notice, he likens denying his seedline theory (which is also racist in his case) to committing a crime.

Within the note, Clifton A. Emahiser seeks to buttress his theory by appealing to “the Zohar, the ‘sacred’ book of the Cabala” aka Kabbalah (circa the 13th century AD) to the effect that as per “The Talmud Unmasked by Rev. I. B. Pranaitis, page 52…In Zohar (I, 28b) we read”:

“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field, etc. (Genes. III, I.) ‘More subtle’ that is towards evil; ‘than all the beasts’ that is, the idolatrous people of the earth. For they are the children of the ancient serpent which seduced Eve.’
The best argument used by the Jews to prove Christians are of a race of the devil is the fact that they are uncircumcised. The foreskin of the non-Jews prevents them from being called the children of the Most High God. For by circumcision the name of God — Schaddai — is completed in the flesh of a circumcised Jew.
The form of the letter Isch is in his nostrils, the letter Daleth in his (bent) arm, and ain appears in his sexual organ by circumcision. In non-circumcised gentiles, therefore, such as Christians, there are only the two letters Isch and Daleth, which make the word Sched, which means devil. They are, therefore, children of the Sched, the Devil.”

Well, the Zohar is primarily interested in promulgating extremely allegorical Rabbinic folklore peppered misinterpretations of the Bible and does so toward mystical ends.

According to Genesis’ context “beast of the field” of chapter 3 refers to exactly that: the animals that were mentioned in the previous two chapters. Yet, according to extremely late dated, as in recent, misinterpretations it refers to “the idolatrous people of the earth.” Yet, you can see why Emahiser references it since it notes that these people “are the children of the ancient serpent which seduced Eve.”

Interestingly, and tragically, what Emahiser does is to take the statement about how Jews attempt to “to prove Christians are of a race of the devil” and he simply turns it around as he claims to be a Christian and yet attempts to to prove Jews are of a race of the devil because he is a racist—a position which is 100% again the Bible.

Since Clifton A. Emahiser is an anti-Semite racist he writes, “A ‘Jew’ could be circumcised a hundred times and it would not bring him under the Covenant.” He quotes the word “Jew” because he believes that Aryan Whites such as himself are the true Jews and Semitic Jews are not.

He quotes the Talmud Shabbath 146a and Avodah Zarah 22b thusly, “For when the serpent came upon Eve he injected lust into her.” Of course, besides the fact that the Talmud also reflects Rabbinic folklore, etc. one can “lust” after many things without necessarily a sexual connotation. The Talmud was answering its own question, “Why are idolaters lustful? Because they did not stand at Mount Sinai. For when the serpent came upon Eve he injected a lust into her.”
Interestingly, Emahiser quotes more from that which he claims is “Shabbath 146a” to the effect that “The idea is that the serpent infected Eve (i.e., the human race) with lust, from which, however, those who accept the moral teachings of the Torah are freed.” He fails to note that this is a footnote (from a version edited by Rabbi Dr. Isidore Epstein). Also, I am unsure as to why he quoted it since it discredits his view as Emahiser claims that the seed is genetic but the Talmud’s footnote notes that one can be freed from serpent’s infection via the Torah’s moral teachings.

The Talmud Sotah 9b makes a statement that various serpent seed of Satan theorists play off of, “The Holy One, blessed be He, said…I declared, let it walk with an erect posture; but now it shall go upon its belly.” At this point, the Talmud also has God stating, “I declared: Let its food be the same as that of man; but now it shall eat dust. It said: I will kill Adam and marry Eve; but now, I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed.”
Note that indeed, the serpent wanted to marry Eve but God put enmity between them. That section also notes that “Cain, Korah, Balaam, Doeg, Ahitophel, Gehazi, Absalom, Adonijah, Uzziah and Haman” all “set their eyes upon that which was not proper for them; what they sought was not granted to them and what they possessed was taken from them” thus, again, this was about desires and desires to take actions and not about genetics.

Clifton A. Emahiser then sets up a strawman and knocks it down, “The anti-seedliners base their whole argument on the premise that anything found in the Talmud has to be entirely false. As a matter of fact, this is their ace in the hole, so they think. All they have to do is point out that the Two Seedline doctrine is found in the Talmud, and magically, the teaching is condemned in many people’s minds.”
Speaking for myself (and I am sure for any “anti-seedliners”) there is much truth and much falsehood in the Talmudim (as there are two of them) and my counterarguments have nothing to do with claiming that anything found in the Talmud has to be entirely false, wiping my hands and being done with it.

Interestingly, he goes on to state the following of the Talmud, “It is well recognized they are the most evil books ever written. But we must even give the devil his just dues.”
He then authors a logical fallacy by writing, “If the Two Seedline doctrine is condemned for being part of the writings of the Talmud, then all of their contents are condemned.” Be that as it may, the two seedline theory is not condemned for being part of the writings of the Talmud. Rather, the two seedline theory is condemned for not being part of the writings of the Bible.

He then quotes Talmud Sotah 11b thusly:

… Judah [is called] a lion’s whelp; of Dan [it is said] Dan shall be a serpent, Naphtali [is called] a hind let loose; Issachar a strong ass; Joseph a firstling bullock; Benjamin a wolf that ravineth. [Of those sons of Jacob where a comparison with an animal] is written in connection with them, it is written: but [in the instances where such a comparison] is not written, there is the text: What was thy mother? A lioness; she couched among lions etc. (brackets in original)

Clifton A. Emahiser then continues to commit errors by making comments premised upon his aforementioned logical fallacy thus, or so he asserts:

…anti-seedliners are going to have to reject the main tenets of Israel Identity because they can be found in the Talmud…they will have to go back to Judeo-churchianity. They are going to have to take a black permanent marker and blot out the entire chapter of Genesis 49 along with all the cross-references, all because it can be found in the Talmud. If they blot out Judah, there goes the Redeemer! Are you beginning to see how ridiculous an argument the anti-seedliners advocate? Can you see now how dangerous the ploy of guilt by association can be? Actually, its a “Jewish” kind of trick.

What?! He thinks that if someone disagrees with the Talmud then they must reject the Bible wherever the Bible states something that was later referenced in the Talmud—such illogicality speaks for itself.

It is also interestingly telling that he begins his quote of Sotah 11b where he did since if he had begun it one mere sentence earlier, he would have realized (and had his readers realize) that it states, “This people are compared to an animal.” Thus, this is merely a comparison and nothing to do with genetics. He seems to be wanting to tie the tribe of Dan to the serpentine seedline but are we then to think that the line of Judah came from Eve having sex with a lion or Joseph from her having sex with a bullock or Benjamin with a wolf, etc., etc., etc.?

After another similar line of illogical folly, he references Lt. Col. Jack Mohr, AUS RET. whom he describes as a “very adamant unyielding anti-seedliner.” Mohr wrote Seed of Satan, Literal or Figurative?. It would appear that Clifton A. Emahiser disagrees with Jack Mohr on the serpent seedline of Satan theory but not on overall views as Mohr begins his article by noting “A hot argument is inflicting Identity Christianity today” and his website tells one where to “Find the most up-to-date and advanced Christian Identity exegesis and scholarship.” Identity Christianity is, in reality, Identifying oneself as an anti-Christian racist as biblically there is only one race: the human race, since we all come from Adam and Eve.

Demons in Baruch, 4 Maccabees, Tobit and Avenging of the Saviour.

Baruch – 6th century BC to 1st century AD, probably 2nd to mid-1st century BC
4:7 For you provoked him who made you, by sacrificing to demons and not to God.

4:35 For fire will come upon her from the Everlasting for many days, and for a long time she will be inhabited by demons.

4 Maccabees – between 1st century BC and 1st century AD
1:7-9 I could prove to you from many and various examples that reason is dominant over the emotions, but I can demonstrate it best from the noble bravery of those who died for the sake of virtue, Eleazar and the seven brothers and their mother. All of these, by despising sufferings that bring death, demonstrated that reason controls the emotions.

3:19 The present occasion now invites us to a narrative demonstration of temperate reason.

16:1-2 If, then, a woman, advanced in years and mother of seven sons, endured seeing her children tortured to death, it must be admitted that devout reason is sovereign over the emotions. Thus I have demonstrated not only that men have ruled over the emotions, but also that a woman has despised the fiercest tortures.

Tobit – late 3rd to 2nd century BC 3:7-8, 17 On the same day, at Ecbatana in Media, it also happened that Sarah, the daughter of Raguel, was reproached by her father’s maids, because she had been given to seven husbands, and the evil demon Asmodeus had slain each of them before he had been with her as his wife. So the maids said to her, “Do you not know that you strAngel your husbands? You already have had seven and have had no benefit from any of them…

And Raphael was sent to heal the two of them: to scale away the white films of Tobit’s eyes; to give Sarah the daughter of Raguel in marriage to Tobias the son of Tobit, and to bind Asmodeus the evil demon, because Tobias was entitled to possess her. At that very moment Tobit returned and entered his house and Sarah the daughter of Raguel came down from her upper room.

6:6-7, 14-15, 17 Then the young man said to the Angel, “Brother Azarias, of what use is the liver and heart and gall of the fish?” He replied, “As for the heart and liver, if a demon or evil spirit gives trouble to any one, you make a smoke from these before the man or woman, and that person will never be troubled again…Now I am the only son my father has, and I am afraid that if I go in I will die as those before me did, for a demon is in love with her, and he harms no one except those who approach her.
So now I fear that I may die and bring the lives of my father and mother to the grave in sorrow on my account. And they have no other son to bury them.” But the Angel said to him, “Do you not remember the words with which your father commanded you to take a wife from among your own people? Now listen to me, brother, for she will become your wife; and do not worry about the demon, for this very night she will be given to you in marriage…Then the demon will smell it and flee away, and will never again return.

8:1-3 When they had finished eating, they escorted Tobias in to her. As he went he remembered the words of Raphael, and he took the live ashes of incense and put the heart and liver of the fish upon them and made a smoke. And when the demon smelled the odor he fled to the remotest parts of Egypt, and the Angel bound him.

Avenging of the Saviour – 7th to 8th century AD
He made demons flee…he put demons to flight.

In the next segment, we will consider The Sentences of the Sextus, Melchizedek, History of Joseph the Carpenter, 1 Enoch aka Ethiopic Apocalypse of Enoch, Apocalypse of Adam and The Book of Adam.
