Was Noah genetically “perfect in his generation”?

Was Noah genetically “perfect in his generation”?

This article is from the if you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it a thousand times files.

Within the various contexts of the Nephilim, Genesis chapter six, genetic manipulation, UFO aliens, human alien hybrids or rather human fallen angels hybrids you have heard that Noah was genetically “perfect in his generation” and is why he is chosen for the mission of surviving the flood and continuing the human race.

These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God. Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth (Genesis 6:9-10).

The key word within our context is “blameless” which is the Hebrew word tamiym (Srong’s H8549) which means complete, whole, entire, healthful, wholesome, unimpaired, innocent, having integrity, etc.

The issue is that texts such as Exodus 12:5 that read, “Your lamb shall be an unblemished male a year old; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats” has tamiym for unblemished or others translate as without defect.

From this we get the thousand times assertion that this refers to genetics since, or so we are told, a sacrifice had to be genetically perfect to be acceptable—kosher.

But does genetics have anything to do with the kosherness of a sacrifice? Perhaps, but only on the surface.

But let us take a step back as the issue is the claim that what Genesis chapter six is describing is that the “Sons of God” married and mated with the “daughters of men.” We are told that this means that fallen angels created hybridized beings with human women so that their offspring, the Giborim, the “the mighty men who were of old, men of renown” (the word mighty is whence comes the term gibor / gibbowr).

The genetic issue comes about when the claim is made that hybridization spread to (almost) all of humanity and that the great deluge, the worldwide flood, was YHVH ridding the Earth of these destructive hybrids. Noah is said to have been genetically pure, contextually meaning that he was not touched, shall we say, by the hybridization process (no Nephilim/giborim blood in his line).

However, consider the following thought experiment: we have twin sheep so that their genetics are the same.
Somewhere down the road, one of them sustains a cut on its leg. This means that even though the twins are genetically the same, one is not eligible for sacrifice—no longer kosher.

Thus, the bottom line issue is not genetics but being perfect, unblemished, without defect, etc. As in the sheep example, there is a difference between being genetically perfect/eligible for sacrifice and physically perfect/eligible for sacrifice.

So now the question becomes whether Noah was perfectly sinless (and, by extension, could have redeemed humanity without Jesus having to do it for us).

But how, in which way, in what manner was Noah perfect, unblemished, without defect, etc.?

Well, a direct one to one correspondence between animals and Noah can no longer be made since animals do not sin and sin is the issue with which he must deal with Noah as, for him, being perfect, unblemished, without defect, etc. could not refer to genes (at least, not solely).

But then how, in what way, was Noah was a righteous man, tamyim in his time? Well, we know the following about
Abraham:

…if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness, just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works…For we say, “Faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness” (see Romans 4:2-9).

So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? Even so Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness. Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham…So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer…Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, “The righteous man shall live by faith” (Galatians 3:5-11).

Thus, the lesson is that Noah could have been accounted as righteous / tamyim by faith, by believing YHVH (note, not believe in YHVH but believing that which YHVH states).
