Trump’s immigrant ban vs. Obama’s immigrant ban

Note: I am not interested in defending POTUS Trump in any way shape or form. However, I am interested in facts, #fakenews, misinfo, etc.

I am going to quote form Michael Daly’s article, “The Donald Trump Fan Detained In His Muslim Ban,” The Daily Beast, January 28, 2017 AD.
In part I am referencing The Daily Beast as I just found out that their idea of “reporting,” “journalism” and “fact checking” includes copying and pasting—and publishing—parody:

Well, from the very titled you can tell that it is fake news as there is no “Muslim Ban,” see my What does Trump’s executive order on immigration ban REALLY say?.

The “Trump Fan” in question “worked with American forces in Iraq…who fled Iraq with his family after a decade in the employ of the U.S. government, during which he was credited with saving numerous American lives as an uncommonly brave interpreter for the 101st Airborne.”
Hi name is Hameed Khalid Darweesh and I am sure that some are slip as to whether to attack him for being a “Trump fan” or protect him for being a victim of Trumpmania.

He found himself, “detained for 19 hours at JFK Airport” which is about one hour longer than it takes the average person to get through the TSA line—capiche?

It is noted that this was “despite possessing a special visa” and yet, the point of the story should be: Trump administration doing good job background checking immigrants and that this was done to Darweesh which resulted in him going on his merry way.

The article notes, “The policy being Trump’s order to ban immigrants from seven predominantly Muslim countries—Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen—for at least 90 days, and all refugees for at least 120 days. None are even the familial homeland of any of the terrorists who mounted major attack in America, including 9/11, San Bernardino and Orlando.” The article does not bother noting that these seven countries are focused upon because that is the guidance that the Obama administration left behind.
Also, this is more fake news since there is no “ban” of “immigrants from seven predominantly Muslim countries…and all refugees for at least 120 days.” The fact is that there are provisions for allowing immigrants from any and all countries to enter the USA today—particularly if they are being persecuted as a religious minority.

And this brings us to the “vs.” part of the Obama’s immigrant ban vs. Trump’s immigrant ban.

Note ABC News’ report “Exclusive: US May Have Let ‘Dozens’ of Terrorists Into Country As Refugees” by James Gordon Meek, Cindy Galli and Brian Ross in November 20, 2013 AD.
Barack Obama’s State Department “stopped processing Iraq refugees for six months in 2011…even for many who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets. One Iraqi who had aided American troops was assassinated before his refugee application could be processed, because of the immigration delays, two U.S. officials said. In 2011, fewer than 10,000 Iraqis were resettled as refugees in the U.S., half the number from the year before, State Department statistics show.”

Here is the current score, as it were, as of January 30, 2017 AD:

I will narrow the focus to Iraq and note the following:

“Trump’s order to ban immigrants from…Iraq…for at least 90 days” (which as I noted is fake news) resulted in, as per the example above: an Iraqi being allowed to enter the USA after some hours of background checks.

Barack Obama “stopped processing Iraq refugees for six months” resulted in “One Iraqi who had aided American troops was assassinated.”

Also, Obama’s immigrant ban was not referred to as a “Muslim ban” since it was not yet, Trump’s immigrant ban is being referred to as a “Muslim ban” even though it is not.

Thus, this is just more media and poop-cultural manipulation towards divide and conquer ends.
