Dissecting symbolism, or symbology, is an arduous task for various reasons such as:
Firstly, one needs to determine whether the thing in view is a symbol in the first place. For example, there are three basic shapes; circle, square and triangle. Thus, is someone was to, say, design a corporate logo the would likely use a circle, square or triangle—or an oblong, ellipsoid, rectangle (two squares next to each other), etc. This would not necessarily mean that they are communicating some deeper, hidden, secret (occult) meaning.
Secondly, at some point or another, chronologically speaking, each and every geometric shape, number, animal, tree, planet, etc. as been a symbol used by secret societies, mystery religion schools, cults, the occult, witches, wiccans, magickians, pagans, satanists, luciferians, new agers, the Illuminati, etc., etc., etc. Thus, you cannot simply look at an aforementioned corporate logo, for instance, and know for certain that they are some sort of occultists.
Thirdly, one single symbol can have more than one meaning. This is because one symbol can mean different things to different occultists. This is also the case because even within one single cult the meaning can have various meanings. For example, at one point Freemasons are told that the square and compass with the “G” in the middle means Geometry, at another level they are told that it means Gnosis, at another, God, etc.
Thus, the point is to be discerning: do not read occultism into everything but also do not dismiss that occultism is all around us.
This seems like a good time for a crash course in symbolism. Before getting to the X-Box and the mark of the beast let us review every single symbol’s meaning that has been used by secret societies, mystery religion schools, cults, the occult, witches, wiccans, magickians, pagans, satanists, luciferians, new agers, the Illuminati, etc., etc., etc.
The meaning, the bottom line meaning, of every single symbol used by secret societies, mystery religion schools, cults, the occult, witches, wiccans, magickians, pagans, satanists, luciferians, new agers, the Illuminati, etc., etc., etc. is as follows:
It is either a male’s sexual organ
A female’s sexual organ
Some amalgamous morphing thereof such as in androgyny or hermaphroditic
Some coming together of the two in sexual union
And there you have it; the bottom line meaning, of every single symbol used by secret societies, mystery religion schools, cults, the occult, witches, wiccans, magickians, pagans, satanists, luciferians, new agers, the Illuminati, etc., etc., etc.
It really and literally does all come down to sex…and blood.
The X-Box and X-Men logo or symbols (or, sigil) is not merely an X but an X within a circle (X) and this symbol does have a long history.
Here are two examples, two elucidations of this symbol.

God placed a “Mark” (X) on Cain to forever identify him for his iniquity. Cain’s eternal punishment was to walk the earth marked by the Lord God, because he would never be forgiven. This “Mark” (X) became the 1st Coat of Arms to represent the Dragon Kings—those outside the will of God.
An ancient Secret Society that existed in Egypt around 2170 B.C. was called the Imperial and Royal Court of the Dragon. They used, what some believe to be, the Mark of Cain as their emblem. The emblem was a Serpent swallowing its tail. Inside the circle was an “X.”
Kenneth Grant, Aleister Crowley and The Hidden God, pp. 161-162:
THERE is a legend known to Initiates concerning the secret abode of the Goddess: The Spirit of Nodens―God of the Great Deep-flashed forth as lightning from the depths and formed a throne in celestial realms―a seat of stone―whereon the Goddess was established. She ruled from the throne of stone which Nodens had fashioned, and about her the temple of Nu-Isis grew into being…
The Heart of the Sigil of Nodens is identical with the Mark of the Beast: (X), the fusion of O and X which produces the lightning flash. Nodens is the God of the Great Deep or Abyss, microcosmically identical with subconsciousness. He reigns over the Abyss and controls and harnesses its lightnings. “Flashed forth as lightning from the depths” describes the act involved in the establishing of the Scat. The Seat of Stone is lsis, and upon this foundation the Goddess is established and rules the heavens, the earth and the deeps beneath the earth. In other words, the Goddess who grants all desires is invoked by the union of the X and the O (the Phallus and the Kteis), the Scat being the vehicle of her power.
Isis is therefore her vehicle, for Isis bears the fire of Nodens within her womb, and her vehicle in the macrocosm is the transplutonic planet known to occult tradition also as Isis.
Told you that it is all about sex, “the union of the X and the O (the Phallus and the Kteis)” the Sigil of Nodens is a penis and a vagina.
This statement by Grant also resonates, to some degree, with Lady Gaga’s statement which she makes under the guise of one of her many personas (or multiple personalities or dissociative identities). This one is called Mother Monster (hint, think “Mother of Darkness”). This persona has actually promulgated the Manifesto of Mother Monster which she appears to have first presented along with the music video for her song, “Born This Way” with a backtrack from Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 AD movie Vertigo. It was also presented via a computer generated Lady Gaga face within a diamond shaped prism.
This is the Manifesto:
