The following is based on the report, Satanism In The Royal Navy, Forces TV, March 17, 2016 AD.
The UK’s Royal Navy has allowed Chris Cranmer, a Naval Technician, to perform Satanic rituals on board of the HMS Cumberland on which he served.
He has been a Satanist since he was a teen at which time he had read Anton LaVey’s Satanic Bible. The book includes a chapter titled “On the Choice of Human Sacrifice,” see here). Cranmer stated, “I then read more and more and came to realise I’d always been a Satanist, just simply never knew.”
In his official capacity, he has lobbied the Ministry of Defence “to make Satanism a registered religion in the military.” This would only follow US policy since at least the commissioning of the first openly Satanic officer Michael Aquino who went on to write the US Army’s Chaplain’s Manual. He is a former priest of Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan who went on to establish the Temple of Set.
Here is that which Aquino wrote regarding the litigious battle between US Army Maj Grady McMurtry and Kenneth Grant regarding the legitimate chartered of the US Grand Lodge of the Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO):

Yet, if Satanism has had anything going for it since the 1980s and early 1990s is a great PR machine with which media is happy to side. No matter what the actual news and evidence is, just shout Satanic panic and the conversation is over before it begins. Satanists and the media tell us that Satanists do not, like, actually worship Satan and stuff, that they are really just stylish Goth Atheists, that they are viewed in a bad light due to the world’s real evil namely Christianity, etc., etc., etc.
In fact, “being a practising Satanist apparently proved to be no barrier to Mr Cranmer’s career prospects” as in “he had been promoted to a job at the Ministry of Defence.” His mother noted that he was “head-hunted” surely no pun intended “for a job in Whitehall after reaching the rank of chief petty officer.”
Well, Forces TV promulgated such misinfo in noting that “The Church of Satan was established in San Francisco in 1966. Unlike theistic Satanists, who venerate Satan as supernatural deity, its followers believe there are no gods and that materialism and self-indulgence are good.”
Yes, that is the PR front but the cat was literally out of the bag when a lion mauled LaVey’s girlfriend and High Priestess, Jayne Mansfield’s son. LaVey and his adherents petitioned Satan for his healing summoning him as a personal being to whom they referred as brother Satan (ultimately, Mansfield dying in a car wreck). For details, see here.

The report notes “Followers live by the Nine Satanic Statements, which include ‘Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence’, ‘Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek’ and ‘Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification’.” Now, are these the sorts of people that the military wants within its ranks? Well, yes, actually!
