Andrew Wolfson, Alleged ‘Satanic’ killers win new trial, Courier Journal, July 17, 2016 AD:
Meade Circuit Judge Bruce T. Butler noted that there was “no ‘credible evidence’ that the murder of Rhonda Sue Warford, a Louisville woman whose body was dumped in a field, was motivated by Satanic worship.” She had been stabbed 11 times (which is the number of occult magick, see here).
New DNA testing is being appealed to in order to get the 1995 AD convictions of Garr Keith Hardin and Jeffrey Dewayne Clark overturned. Based on this new evidence, a new trial has been ordered. Attorney Kenton Smith, who originally prosecuted the case noted that he “was a little surprised” by the decision considering that “both defendants have on multiple occasions admitted their involvement.”
David Michael Williams, who is the Meade commonwealth’s attorney, noted that Garr Hardin confessed to the Kentucky Parole Board having stabbed Rhonda Warford, having been involved in Satanism and implicated Jeffrey Clark.
Judge Butler pointed out that, as the report puts it, “offenders are forced to take responsibility for the crimes they did not commit in order to win parole.”
Former Louisville Police Detective Mark Handy had testified that Hardin had admitted that he became “tired of looking at animals and began to want to do human sacrifices” yet, no evidence was submitted on this point. It is also noted that the Commonwealth’s Attorney Smith was in error when he claimed that a broken cup found in Hardin’s home was a “chalice” employed for drinking the blood of sacrificial animals. Blood was found on the cup, Hardin stated that he dropped the cup and cut himself and indeed, the blood turned out to be Hardin’s.
Warford’s mom had stated that her daughter, Clark and Hardin were all involved in Satanism (as dabblers). Also, a Satanic bible was found in Hardin’s home.
This is all very strange because as far as I know Satanism is not illegal—in fact, it is all the hip rage within poop-culture. Thus, I am unsure why it is emphasized, as it is by Andrew Wolfson regarding Garr Keith Hardin and Jeffrey Dewayne Clark, that the murder for which they had served 21 years behind bars were not “‘Satanically’ inspired — as prosecutors claimed decades ago.”1.
This pertains to the 1995 AD stabbing death of Rhonda Sue Warford whose body was subsequently disposed of a field commonly known as Dead Horse Hollow.
But what if they were? The crime is the act and not the motivation (as much as motivation plays into it to some degree such as whether it was premeditated, etc.).
Some may claim that the emphasis is so as to deemphasize Satanic panic. But then again, those who cry “Satanic panic!” seem to claim that Satanists are the only people on Earth who do not take actions according to their beliefs. The original trial discussed claims that the murder was a Satanic sacrifice yet, a State expert denied as much.
In any regard, Judge Butler emphasized that the convicted were “based on suppositions that we now know to be fundamentally false.” Not only this but new methods of DNA testing cleared the case up.
Yet, this case if not over yet as the charge of murder has been dismissed but a new charge of kidnapping has been introduced. Also, Clark has been charged with perjury since in 2015 AD he claimed to have never admitted involvement yet, in 2006 AD he admitted to having helped move the corpse.
Al Griffin, Judge Will Not Drop Guilty Plea In 30-Year Case Of Satanic Murder, Lake Expo, July 12, 2016 AD:
In that which the report notes is “a story involving drugs, heavy metal rock music, satanic worship, animal torture, and human sacrifice,” James M. Hardy, Pete Roland and Ron Clements were accused of murdering Steven Newberry in 1987 AD by beating him to death with baseball bats following the killing of a cat which the three admitted that it was a Satanic ritual (read the cat section of Making A Murderer of Steven Avery?). Pete Roland appeared on the Geraldo Rivera show on October 25, 1988 AD.
James Hardy decided to enter a Motion to Withdraw Guilty Plea.
Ten in court in satanism case – Trial for the Mamelodi West 10 is set for August 18, Rekord East, July 13, 2016 AD:
“Prophet” Eric Shikobela along with nine others have been accused of “imputing witchcraft and malicious damage to property.” Shikobela is heads the Holy Faith Family Ministries Church in Mamelodi West in South Africa.
The ten destroyed two homes after the “prophet” showed them alleged video recordings of confession to the effect that a “satanic society” was active therein.
