Sergei Shoigu, Russia’s Defense Minister, has been keeping a sharp eye on the Valley of the Kings in Tuva, Siberia.
The Tunnug burial site features the 3,000-year-old Scythians bodies of soldiers and their horses.
Shoigu told a session of the Russian Geographical Society, “We would like very much to find the organic matter” and that “It would be possible to make something of it, if not Dolly the Sheep” which refers to the desire of a Jurassic Park-like project of cloning ancient DNA.
Interestingly, the essentially still Atheistic government hired “a modern-day shaman…to ensure the excavations did not anger the spirits.”
This is the latest in a long line of attempts at various levels of eugenics that world leaders have attempted through the years: from ancient programs of mating those who were considered the best to neo-high-tech means of reverse engineering, in genetic terms, and now cloning.
