On the Skeptic Arena’s Atheism and political religion

I have argued that politics is a religion especially for those who claim to not be religious and also that, given certain definitions, Atheism is a religion—see VIDEO: Politics as religion also VIDEO: Is Barack Obama the anti-Christ? No, but… and VIDEO: Is Atheism a religion?

Enter Neo who runs the Skeptic Arena site. As you can see from our long time interaction Neo’s goal in life is to spread hatred—I am not making this up nor exaggerating.

He refers to himself as “a Rationalist and” get his, “a religious nonbeliever” who claims that “That means that all of my beliefs are based upon evidence which has withstood the demands of the scientific method. At this point in time, no religion has yet met that standard”: I can attest to the fact that this is simply an empty claim.

He claims that his “web site is dedicated to the eradication of irrational thinking. Rationalists are those, whose thinking is strictly guided by the laws of logic. Rationalists only accept as true, that which has been proven to be true, through the application of the scientific method”: I can attest to the fact that this is simply an empty claim.

So, he is a religious nonbeliever—which verifies my claim that Atheism is a religion—and some of his dogmatheistic beliefs are “Like Christians, I too have a Bible – it’s called the Constitution. Like Christians, I too have 10 Commandments – they are called the Bill of Rights. Like Christians, I too will do whatever it takes to defend both.”

Well, he does not elucidate his hermeneutic regarding the Constitution—literal, living documents to be interpreted via the wind blowing de jour, etc. and apparently since, since “Like Christians…I too will do whatever it takes to defend both” then he will love and pray.

He then writes, “Unlike Christians, I can prove that our country was founded on my Bible and my 10 Commandments. The First Amendment makes very clear that America was founded on freedom of speech and freedom of religion – and that is why I can never be an antitheist.” While the last statement is contextually incoherent—unless he is referring to the US government or it founding documents as a theos. In any case, note that Atheism is auto-theistic and turns humans into gods. Thus, Neo’s religion, Bible and decalogue where the work on humans.
It is noteworthy to note that he ignores the role of the original founding document which is the Mayflower Compact as well as the Declaration of Independence which declared our independence.

The Mayflower Compact notes, “We…having undertaken a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia, do by these present, solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic…”
The Declaration of Independence notes, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men” and also, “to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitled them…for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence …”

This, these documents contextualize the Constitution and Bill of Rights as being premised upon theism.

Lastly, Neo writes, “I will exercise my freedom of speech to debate them vigorously, and even harshly, on any issue involving religion; but anyone who tries to attack the rights of Americans to worship the god of their choice will be met by a line of defenders … and we don’t plan on moving” (ellipses in original).
