As you can see within my section on William Ramsey on “Occult Hollywood”, Ramsey produced a documentary elucidating various occult aspects of Hollywood one of which was numerology in movies. This includes a lot of numbers such as those popularized by Aleister Crowley which are meant to produce some mystical effect.
Consider that which William S. Burroughs termed “the 23 enigma” and that Jim Carrey starred in a movie titled, “The Number 23” (FYI: 2/3 of 1 is .666). Also, post September 11, 2001 AD many uncovered movie after movie after movie released pre September 11, 2001 AD which referenced 9/11 in various manners. Note that within Gerald Gardner’s magickal rituals he employs a 9 foot circle and an 11 foot circle.
There are various forms of and therefore meanings of numerology. For example, there is “biblical numerology” which merely refers to noting certain number patters such as that 6 generally refers to humans, 7 to perfection, etc. and yet, there is no magick behind this, one should not change one’s name to have the letters add up to a certain biblically significant number so as to have it cause certain results, etc.20
I will focus on some instances of the number 11 in various movies: some outright as “11” and some from which I arrive at “11” by what numerologists refers to as “reduction” which is adding strings of numbers until we are left with one or more, based on meaning. Thus, an 11 would reduce to a 2 yet, the 11 stopping point is based on the supposed significance of the 11 which is as follows.
Aleister Crowley called 11 “the great magical number, as uniting the antithesis of 5 and 6, etc.” One of the things to which this refers is combining the five pointed microcosm pentagram and six pointed macrocosm hexagram which results in 11 points. This is why Annemarie Schimmel referred to this as “the sacred marriage between macrocosm and microcosm.”
Crowley also noted that 11 is “the general number of magick, or energy tending to change” and “11 is the number of Magick in itself. It is therefore suitable to all types of operations…it is the sacred number par excellence of the new Aeon.”
Rene Guenon (René Jean Marie Joseph Guénon aka ‘Abd al-Wāḥid Yaḥyá) referred to 11 as “the great number of the hieros gamos” with Hieros gamos being aka Hierogamy and refering to a occult sexual
magick rituals that reenacts the sexual union between gods and goddesses.
Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan has “Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth.”
Infamous West Memphis Three murders related occultist Damien Echols has made various 11 related statements such as within a July 22, 2012 AD tweet, “I walked off of Death Row exactly 11 months ago today” and while most would mark the anniversary, he chose to note the 11th month. Also, his Instagram title is Archmage11 and his Kik tag is Magician11.
Occultists Allen H. Greenfield notes “the number 11, the number of magick, and ciphers.” Thus, the magick term Abrahadabra is an 11-fold word, the Classical English Qabala contains a cycle of 11s.
Much more could be stated but let us get stated with the examples found within movies: I will update this article as I run into more.
The movie This Is Spinal Tap, directed by Rob Reiner, contains a classic scene where a rock and roll guitarist goes on and on about how his amplifier’s volume nob goes up to 11 whilst everyone else’s only goes up to 10.
In the movie Galaxina, directed by William Sachs, a “robot with feelings” who seeks “a mysterious crystal, the Blue Star” is engineered to police space abroad spaceship number 308: 3+0+8=11
Rudy De Luca’s 1985 AD movie has a title that speaks for itself: Transylvania 6-5000: 6+5=11.
In the movie The Sender, directed by Roger Christian, the key mysterious character’s name is unknown and when institutionalized due to a suicide attempts, he is labeled “John Doe 83”: 8+3=11.
In the TV show Automan, created by Glen A. Larson, the artificial intelligence tells his maker, “On a scale from 1 to 10, think of me as an 11.” His creator states, “I’ve created a monster.” Eventually, Automan tells his maker to “enter my dimension.” See Transhumanism in Tron take off “Automan” TV show.
In the movie Videodrome, directed by David Cronenberg, the main channel relaying a mind control signal is 83 with 8+3=11. A character whose pseudonym is “Brian O’Blivion” is said to have died 11 months ago. See Mind control programming & alchemical Hollywood in “Videodrome” movie.
The 2006 AD vampire movie Exit 38 was directed by Joel Franco and Dean George: 3+8=11.
In the 2015 AD movie The Imago, a certain “Defendant 47 is on trial. He doesn’t know why. The judge and lawyers help him remembering he is a photographer that knows something about a killing: 4+7=11
In the Freejack movie, directed by Geoff Murphy, someone is catapulted into the future via high tech. When he figures this out, he is viewing a city scape wherein a holographic billboard notes that it is 2009 and 2+9=11, he looks at the wristband he was wearing, since he is a racecar driver, and the year from which he was taken is 1991 and 1+9+9+1=11 and there is a lot more to it than that, see Transhumanism immortality in Freejack movie.
The title of the movie Hitman: Agent 47, directed by Aleksander Bach, speaks for itself as 4+7=11.
The issue is the same with the movie 47 Ronin, directed by Carl Rinsch, which is based on a traditional Japanese folktale.
In the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey, directed by Stanley Kubrick, there is a key black obelisk (really just a 3-D rectangle) that is 11 feet tall.
In the Harry Potter movie series, based on books by J. K. Rowling, Harry’s magickal wand is 11 inches long. Also, magickians employ pentagrams-five pointed stars and hexagrams-six pointed stars (5+6=11): Harry consists of five letters and Potter of six. Also, Rowling added the “K” to her name as an initial that does not refer to a middle name: K is the 11th letter of the English alphabet. FYI: people who are serious about the occult (or about exposing the occult) spell the word magic with a K which is a manner whereby to distinguish it from stage illusion acts—magick is thus viewed as witchcraft (Shakespeare and Milton employed that spelling)
In the Surrogates movie, directed by Jonathan Mostow, it was “11 years ago” that the Supreme Court rules in favor of using android “surrogate” bodies—which are controllable from a virtual reality device from home—in daily life. See Transhumanism in “Surrogates” movie.
The movie 2081 is an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s Harrison Bergeron which is about a dystopian future. 2081: 2+0+8+1=11
In the movie Her, directed by Spike Jonze, the main character asks his artificial intelligence love interest if she/it is in love with anyone and she/it affirms that yes, 641 others—of course, this reduces as follows 6+4+1=11. See Transhumanism in Joaquin Phoenix “Her” movie.
In Joseph Sims’s movie Observance a “private investigator. Embarking on an unusual assignment…witnesses bizarre happenings” which have “birthed a dark presence which slowly threatens to consume him.” He conducts surveillance from a motel room #128: 1+2+8=11.
The Netflix series Stranger Things is premised on the Mk-Ultra mind control based experiments (about which you can learn here). A main protagonist is a mysterious child who is tattooed with an 11 and states that such is her name.
In the movie 6 Souls, directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein, a dead body (the soul of which possessed a man) is found in a house numbered 47: 4+7=11.
The CIA MK-Ultra and pineal gland experiments based movie The Banshee Chapter, directed by Blair Erickson, centers around “Patient 11.” See CIA MK-Ultra in “The Banshee Chapter” movie (notes and video) and my short story I, DID (or, On the Splitting of the Pineal Gland).
The opening to the movie Kristy (aka Random), directed by Olly Blackburn, involves someone uploading a video of Kristy and her tortuous murder. The first username seen is “DrkViolet801”: 8+0+1=9. There is a “TemohpaBulos83” (the 83 is actually more discernable than the rest of the username which is blurry) and 8+3=11. So, we not only have an 11 but a 9/11.
There is “Magick_Fire_678” and while number may not mean much, it does have “Magick” with a “k” and the movie has various explicit references to Ks. See Occult alchemy in Kristy movie.
In The Scribbler, directed by John Suits, a mental patient diagnosed with MPD/DID “did not speak until she was 11” due to early childhood trauma. This is being stated with a video of a session which is “TAPE 01 OCT. 17” so the date could be taken as 10, 17 thus, 1+0+1+7=9. So we may have a 9/11 (if, that is, we ignore the “01” in the tape number). There is also a focus on “patient 99” and 9+9=18 and 1+8=9 and 9 is the number of the beast as 6+6+6=18 and as we just saw 1+8 brings us back to 9.
In the Robot Overlords movie, directed by Jon Wright, alien-robots attack the Earth and the war is said to have lasted 11 days.
In Men Behind the Sun, directed by Tun Fei Mou, “Japanese troops round up Chinese and Russian prisoners of war and take them to a place called Squadron 731, where they are grotesquely tortured and experimented on to test new biological weapons”: 7+3+1=11
In the movie The Lobster, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, the main protagonist stays at a re-education-mind-control-brain-washing “hotel” and “His room number was 101” which may be a sneaky 11. See Are there hidden meanings in Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster movie?
Less than one minute into the movie Split Second, directed by Tony Maylam and Ian Sharp, we see an airboat labeled, “Police 731”: 7+3+1=11
In the movie Zenith, directed by Vladan Nikolic, there are thought to be 10 video tapes which disclose clues to a massive New World Order style conspiracy yet, in the end it is stated that while everyone thinks that there are 10 there are really 11.
The movie Hell’s Gate 11:11 was directed by Michael Bafaro and the title speaks for itself.
The 2007 AD movie Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, directed by Tim Russ, is set in the year 2306: 2+3+0+6=11.
In The Truth About Emanuel, directed by Francesca Gregorini, Emanuel visits a woman that has lost her mind due to her baby’s death. The woman is hospitalized in room #821 and 8+2+1=11.
In the movie Side Effects, directed by Steven Soderbergh, it is noted that “a few days before 911 there was, there was a huge surge in, in, in the purchase of options of airline stock. No one knows why, it’s a complete mystery. But United fell 40% after the planes crashed and people made a lot of money and it isn’t illegal. Thinking something is gonna happen isn’t illegal. Breaking the law to make it happen is a different story.”
In the 2015 AD movie Absolutely Anything, directed by Terry Jones, alien beings decide whether or not to destroy the Earth or allow earthlings into the “Intergalactic Council of Superior Species” based on “The Intergalactic Manual of Good and Evil” page 56: 5+6=11.
The 2011 AD movie 11-11-11, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, is referred to as such as a child will have his 11th birthday on 11-11-11 (November 11, 2011 AD). When his family moves into a new house the street number of which is 1415 and the child looks at it, says, “Eleven” and the dad says, “Yeah, it adds up to eleven, good job.”
In 2012 AD Dale Fabrigar and Everette Wallin directed the movie Area 407: 4+0+7=11
In the 2013 AD movie Miss Violence, directed by Alexandros Avranas, “On her birthday, 11-year-old Angeliki jumps off the balcony to her death with a smile on her face. An investigation is started as to the reason for this apparent suicide, but the family keeps insisting that it was an accident.”
The movie 11:00 a.m. aka Yeolhansi was directed by Kim Hyun-seok.
Tokyo 10+01 was directed by Higuchinsky.
11 Somerset was directed by John Marsan and is about “a renowned expert of paranormal phenomena. He has a son named Oliver whose friend Laurie Lamera’s life is turned upside-down by the ghost of her dead father, who looks for help from John about this mysterious event.”
The TV show Eleventh Hour is about “A government scientist and his tough attractive FBI handler try to save people from deadly scientific experiments, poisoners, rare diseases and environmental hazards.
The movie Eleventh Hour is “about a N.Korean general’s vendetta against a U.S. team of special ops soldiers who are on a mission to free Japanese political prisoners.”
The movie 11 Minutes, directed by Jerzy Skolimowski, tells the story how “In the span of eleven tense minutes, a whirlwind of interlocking tales of life in the surveillance age…”
There is also the company “47 Films” the logo of which is one all seeing eye: 4+7=11
The following is not about movies but: Freemasons once paid tribute to “Christian Science” founder Mary Baker Eddy by erecting an 11-foot pyramid at her New Hampshire birth site—the “church” showed its appreciation by destroying it.
