Nephilim were half human half supernatural survival secrets

The oddly phrased title comes from a slightly odd formulation of a reply to a Facebook post when a certain Jeffrey Coulter noted

The first Nephilim were half human half supernatural survival secrets may have been given to them by the fallen angels before they were sentenced to darkness.

I, True Freethinker, replied

Why do post-flood-Nephilologists always begin by throwing God and His Word under the bus?

You contradicted the Bible five times (Gen 7:7, 23; Heb 11:7; 1 Peter 3:20 & 2 Peter 2:5) does that matter to you?

What makes you think that God failed, that He missed a loophole, that the flood was much of a waste, etc., etc., etc.?

Jeffrey Coulter

OK friend notice I used the term may have been given no I am not contradicting the Bible or God’s word. The Bible contradicts it’s self several times because it has been altered several times to read the way the Catholics wanted it to read. Before you counted up all your contradiction scriptures you should have read where these Giants show back up in the book of Numbers and God tells Moses their weakness and how to defeat them. Enoch was the holiest man on Earth in the eyes of God and the Catholics left his book out of the Bible in fear of what it might cause. No I wouldn’t dare think of throwing God under the bus the Bible it’s self does that the book of numbers is only one example there are several more.

True Freethinker

Why didn’t you answer any of my questions? Although, I realize that’s a favorite tactic of post-flood Nephilologists: that way you can keep arguing already debunked points—for whatever odd reason someone would want to do that.

Did you read those texts? You referred to a survival of Nephilim past the flood, those five times God inspired who survived they’re not on any of those lists. So, you contradicted the Bible by demonstrable definition: why don’t you care? Please repent.

But I see that you don’t care because you merely asserted “The Bible contradicts it’s self several times” without a single example.

You also merely asserted “it has been altered several times to read the way the Catholics wanted it to read” without any reason to believe that.

How does it make sense to you that I ask about the usages of “giants” so that I can understand you better, you ignore me, and then you incoherently double down referring to whatever you mean by “giants”?

You asserted “Giants show back up in the book of Numbers and God tells Moses their weakness and how to defeat them” that’s pure fantasy, there’s no such statements in Numbers no anywhere else.

You merely asserted that Bible contradicting folkloric text from centuries, if not millennia, after the Torah and millennia after the actual man Enoch live was written by him but there’s literally zero indication of that: besides that someone slapped his name into a text.

Just what would adding 1 Enoch to the Bible cause: besides contradictions?

Jeffrey Coulter

I’m not sorry I proved you wrong because what I said is in black and white and it is in the book of Numbers. Moses even sends out spies to watch these giants. Before you make a fool out of yourself anymore you need to read the book of numbers and see for yourself everybody who has read the Bible has read the same story and they will tell you the same. When you pull your foot out of your mouth maybe you should read the book Enoch and realize that maybe it should have been a book of the Bible. Only two men were taken straight into Heaven without facing death and Enoch was one of them. You need to get caught up friend you are confused and way behind.

True Freethinker

I see that your tactic is now to ignore 99% of what I noted and asked: that’s not a best practice when it comes to dialogue—oh, and don’t go full-blown ungracefully worldly.

Seems that you’re ok contradicting the Bible five times and damaging theology proper due to Numbers but you missed what’s “in black and white” therein.

You asserted “Moses even sends out spies to watch these giants” but 1) there’s no such statement there and 2) what’s the usage of the vague, generic, subjective, multi-usage and modern English word “giants” in English Bibles? What’s your usage? Do those two usages agree?

Did you ever read Num chaps 13-14? As for 13:33, did you ever ask key hermeneutical questions such as: who said it, why was it said, what was the reaction to it, was it accurate, etc.?

What about 1 Enoch? It’s Bible contradicting folklore from centuries, if not millennia, after the Torah, see my book “In Consideration of the Book(s) of Enoch.”

Thus, why would it be in the Bible?

What does the real man Enoch have to do with someone merely slapping his name into a text MILLENNIA after his time?

That brought the discussion to an end as no more replies were forthcoming.
