The Art of Public Speaking 1946 AD book by Stephen Lucas is a book that has gone through a lot of updating. In this case, I am dealing with the 10th edition which McGraw Hill published in 2009 AD as part of its Higher Education series. This version of the book is a finely crafted piece of leftwing-liberal-democrat propaganda. Peppered through the text of the book are positive examples of statement of all sorts from leftwing, liberal and/or democrat personages and their cause de jour. For example, the very first chapter begins with Van Jones (Anthony Kapel Jones) as an example. He is the now disgraced in some eyes former “Green Czar” for the Barack Obama administration.
The propaganda trail keep rolling along from there and includes outright and also subtle forms of subliminal leftwing-liberal-democrat propaganda.
I am going to focus on one example, which is a photo along with a caption reading, “Informative speeches take place in a wide range of situations. Here Chinese scientist Xu Xing speaks to an international audience in Beijing about the discovery of the world’s largest birdlike dinosaur.”
Well, I can tell from the photo that he is addressing Gigantoraptor and I also recognized Xu Xing’s name as I had referenced him many years ago regarding this alleged “birdlike dinosaur” within the article Scientific Cenobites, part 3 of 9.
Therein, I quoted David Cyranoski’s “Giant bird-like dinosaur found – Chinese researchers unearth a surprising find” (Nature News, June 13, 2007 AD) to the effect that “Gigantoraptor had long arms, bird-like legs, a toothless jaw, and probably a beak. There are no clear signs as to whether it was feathered. However, judging from its close affinity to other dinosaurs known to have been feathered, Xing Xu of the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology in Beijing speculates that it was.”
Do you see how the game is played?
Firstly, the reconstruction of Gigantoraptor (the fraudulent muppet that they pass of as evidence) is feathered but the fossil (you know, the actual evidence) is not as “There are no clear signs as to whether it was feathered.” But why let that stop the spinning of a good ol’ Darwinian yarn? It is enough that Xu Xing speculates that it was and that speculation, for some odd reason (read: desperation for puffing and fluffing up Darwinism) is enough to reconstruct it against the actual observable and scientifically verifiable evidence.
Secondly, since The Art of Public Speaking is not a book about anything of the sort; they can feel free to propagandize and move on. In this case, it provides a caption’s worth of misinformation which the undiscerning reader will simply accept and move on.
