Canada’s Inter-Varsity Christian “Ontario Pioneer Camp” demanded to end “anti-gay” policy

This is really “Canada’s Inter-Varsity Christian ‘Ontario Pioneer Camp’ demanded to end ‘anti-gay’ policy” by supposedly Christian alumni who obviously take marching orders from fallen, corrupt, anti-God, anti-Bible, condemned poop-culture.

My source is Nicole Brockbank, “Ontario Pioneer Camp alumni fight to end anti-gay staff policy,” CBC News, Apr 12, 2017 AD which notes that Ontario Canada’s largest Christian summer camps are run by Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada and, as shocking as it is to poop-culture, they have the gall, yes the gall, to do that which Jews have done for 5,000 years, Christians have done for 2,000 years which is condemning homosexuality (which Muslims have done for 1,500 years, Baha’is have done for circa 150 years, etc., etc., etc. but poop-culture cares not to condemn them).

The issue is the policy which “requires staff to condemn ‘homosexual and lesbian sexual conduct’ if a camper asks them about it.” So, it is only if they are asked. Wow, so, wait, staff members are not running around like an anti-LGBTQIAP+ Gestapo?!?!—who would’a thunk it?

The camps’ code of conduct which is signed by staff states, “homosexual and lesbian sexual conducts are not to be practise”” and staff “should not in any way espouse, endorse or imply acceptance” of it.

Spearheading the continued attempts to ensure that there are no LGBTQIAP+-free zones left on Earth is Michelle Dowling who sates that this “very narrow, firm stance on homosexuality is wrong” but did not seem to elucidate that is it wrong based on what? Well, I would imagine that it is based on her feelings based bias as attending the enjoyable camp, “really held me back for a number of years in accepting myself.” Well, Christian theology would not in the least bit tell someone to accept themselves unless that would mean to accept the fact of one’s fallen nature and the freedom that comes with dying to self and being born again (John 3).

What about the camp goers who cannot even enjoy fun-time summer activities without having sexual politics shoved down their throats? What camp goers who want to be in a Christian atmosphere without have anti-Christian actions celebrated? What about the camp goers parent who pay good money for reasons other than having their children un-contextually confronted, “Welcome to Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship’s camp—we’re here, we’re queer: GET USED TO IT!!!!!!”

In fact, when you consider the size of Canada a mere nine camps is a very tiny representation of camps regardless of how many people attend these. Why put yourself in an uncomfortable position?

The solution is, of course, much too simple for cultures that are not interested in actually solving problem shut about censoring anyone who dares to disagree with the politically correct commandments de jour: Michelle Dowling, et al., can simply establish their own camp—problem solved. Or, simple attend any one of the thousands of other camps in Canada.

Dowling stated, “I can imagine the shame and the hopelessness that kids feel when they’re told that, you know, ‘God didn’t make you this way’ or ‘You haven’t done anything wrong yet.’”

Well, we must be empathetic with people dealing with such issues and I can imagine the shame and the hopelessness that kids feel when they’re told that, you know, “God is wrong, the Bible is wrong, your preacher is wrong, your parents are wrong, you are wrong.”

I can also imagine the elation and the hopefulness that kids feel when they’re told that, you know, “You are made in God’s image, God created a male and female to marry and have sex with each other and everyone, including heterosexuals, homosexuals, pedophiles, etc., etc., etc., struggle with sexual issue. You are not alone, we love you and we can help.”

I can also image them being told “God didn’t make you this way, it is an effect of the fall, called original sin, we all suffer from it in various ways and just because fallen poop-culture de jour says it is acceptable does not mean that it is: no more than heterosexual promiscuity, pedophilia, etc., etc., etc.

Inter-Varsity “has just spent a ‘lengthy’ time re-evaluating its staff code of conduct. ‘We’ve come to the conclusion that we continue to affirm the values that we’ve had for the whole of our existence of Inter-Varsity — the traditional evangelical position’” said Al Anderson, Inter-Varsity’s vice-president of ministry for camp and campus. He added, “Our leadership and training has been redesigned to have a significant unit where people can enter into that discussion and wrestle with their convictions…There’s a lot of room in that community to have safe arguments and discussions around the topic.”

Some people, especially very young ones who only think that they know it all, seem to fail to note that at least at jobs above raking leaves signing a code of ethics policy is standard. Now, some may demand, before or after signing, that certain things be changed however, what Michelle Dowling is doing is tantamount to getting a job or otherwise attending an ultra-orthodox Hasidic Jewish camp and demanding bacon for breakfast. I know, I know: so what, good, stick it to them Jews. Okay, what about this: what Michelle Dowling is doing is tantamount to getting a job or otherwise attending an ultra-orthodox Muslim camp and demanding bacon for breakfast. Now, when you stich the top of your head back on, place your eyeballs back where they belong and pick your jaw up off of the floor you will get the picture.

One time assistant director of the Girls Camp, Rebecca Minielly said……..wait “Girls” Camp?!?!? How dare Christian play into the socially constructed gender binary?!?!?!
Anyhow, she stated, “The person who interviewed me was a person I’ve known my whole life. They were doing what they believed was right, I was doing what I believed was right, but it hurt so much because I love camp and I love the work that I did there — it’s home…It was really painful and continues to be a day that hurts my heart.”
Here is something about which personages such as Minielly never seem to think, since they are the center of their own universe, the person who interviewed her could just as easily state, “Rebecca is a person I’ve known my whole life. She were doing what she believed was right, I was doing what I believed was right, but it hurt so much that she wants a Christian camp to accept anti-Christian behavior because I love camp and I love the work that I did there — it’s home…It was really painful and continues to be a day that hurts my heart.”
You see, two can play at that game—even though the media will only cover one of the players.

Why would anyone think, “Oh, hey, summer camp: that is just the place to come out, to discuss sexuality, to be prideful and celebrate such things” rather than, “Oh, hey, summer camp: that is just the place to enjoy nature, play volleyball, swim, hike, etc.”?

Jodi McGeown stated that her interviewer “said to me, ‘What would you say if a camper asked you if you were gay?’ I said that I would say yes. It’s not in me to lie as a Christian.”

Wait, it is not in her to lie as a Christian but it is in her to be a homosexual as a Christian? Why restrict herself? Why not say, “I am a homosexual and a liar and a Christian: so what of it?”
I can imagine the shame and the hopelessness that kids feel when they’re told that, you know, “God didn’t make you a liar” how dare McGeown imply that lying is wrong and anti-Christian. I am going to start a Christian Liars Camp for kids who feel bad about being told that lying is wrong.

Now, this will be shocking to those who hold to an it is all about me all of the time mentality but when asked, “What would you say if a camper asked you if you were gay?” why not simply reply “I would say ‘My life is not an open book, we are not here to make me the focus, it is none of your business and hey, kickball starts in five minutes.”

The bottom line issue is that there is a vast difference between LGBTQIAP+ as a people who loves whomever they please and LGBTQIAP+ as a militant activist movement. The LGBTQIAP+ individual is just that, a person who seeks happiness. Yet, the LGBTQIAP+ movement turns LGBTQIAP+ into a worldview philosophy. They turn LGBTQIAP+ into THE issue which everything revolves around. For example, what is good, moral, right: whatever accepts LGBTQIAP+. Which religion, holy book, god is true: whichever accepts LGBTQIAP+. Who is tolerant, celebrates diversity, is loving: whoever accepts LGBTQIAP+.

What political party to support, what policies to support: whichever accepts LGBTQIAP+.

You see, it becomes the lenses via which everything is views, the basis upon which everything is judged. Yet, moreover the utterly incredible power of the LGBTQIAP+ movement is that it not only gets LGBTQIAP+ personages to think (or rather, not think but feel) in these terms but even get non-LGBTQIAP+ personages to take on LGBTQIAP+ as a worldview philosophy.
