Bloodlines of the Nephilim on the Beginning and End site, part 3 of 4

Under consideration is the Beginning and End site’s article Bloodlines of the Nephilim – A Biblical Study, August 26, 2012 AD (find all my segments on this here). The main point is to prove that, and how, Nephilim genetics survived post-flood even though the Nephilim drowned.

CANAAN We are told that since in Genesis 9 Ham “is described as ‘the father of Canaan’” and yet “none of his brothers get any similar distinction” then “it is clear that Canaan carried the Nephilim gene” and yes, this is reading far too much into it. And so one asserted assumption leads to the next and so “This could only happen through his mother, Ham’s wife, having the Nephilim gene” we are even given a styled genes/DNA test via actions, “If Ham were wicked…the odds of him taking a wife who was a part of the Nephilim hybrid pagan culture was much higher.” I can hear Jeff Foxworthy now, “You might have Nephilim NDA—if you are wicked.” Not only that but “That Ham was wicked…would make it more likely that he would marry a woman from a pagan family who would be carrying the Nephilim gene.”

Non-existent dots continue to be connected such as that Ham was “distinguished as ‘the father of Canaan’” since “Is it possible that Canaan was already showing the appearance of being part Nephilim” and yet, “This is not stated in scripture” however, “we can know with certainty that it is from the line of Ham that we find the resurgence of the Nephilim giants” which is said to be able to be a result of “comparing Scripture with Scripture” so let us see if that pans out.

A not very helpful image used within the article with the even less helpful, due to inaccuracy, appended statement, “By the measurements in Scripture, the original Nephilim offspring were quite larger than the average human”

NIMROD
The argument is that that post-flood lineage of giants goes Ham’s mother, Ham, Cush, Mizraim, Canaan and then we go to Ham’s grandson via Cush who is Nimrod and who “began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD…the beginning of his kingdom was Babel…” (Genesis 10).

The Canaan “special distinction” point is carried on to Nimrod but Nimrod is noteworthy because he is noteworthy. We cannot conclude that anyone who gets more than a passing reference, and is wicked, must be a marker-point for a connect the Nephilim genetic dots game. As the article notes, “Nimrod was the first murderer and conqueror in the post-flood world…founder of the city of Babylon…His name, which means ‘to rebel’ or ‘let us rebel’” or “the valiant” actually (Strong’s H5248) “indicates his disposition.”
We are told that the Tower of Babel was “used to access the angelic realm through pagan ritual” which is certainly a unique claim. So, was he “possibly a Nephilim?” It is noted that Nimrod is said to have “began to be a” gibbor as were the Nephilim, as was Goliath (1 Samuel 17) and yet, so were many people who were gibbor which merely refers to might (see here for listing of verses).

There is then one of those very loose astro-theology style claims that “In mythology, Nimrod is known by many names, among them Gilgamesh and Osiris, who were worshiped as gods. In Sumerian texts he [as Gilgamesh] is described as ‘2/3 god, 1/3 man’” yet, that these refer to Nimrod is not certain. We are then told that the text states that He “began” which is the word chalal “which means, ‘to profane, desecrate or pollute oneself, begin, ritually or sexually.’” An example of Bible usage is that the KJV translates as begin (52x), profane (36x), pollute (23x) and various other more minor usages.

Matthew Henry is quoted to the effect that “The same spirit that actuated the giants before the flood (who became mighty men, and men of renown, ch. 6:4), now revived in him, so soon was that tremendous judgment which the pride and tyranny of those mighty men brought upon the world forgotten.” Note that Henry is employing the term “spirit” in the manner of motivation, thought, etc. and not in a paranormal manner.
