In this case the issue is that of one or both parents being unfit either due to mental problems, financial instability, etc. This argument may be stated as “It would be wrong to sentence the baby to a life with unfit parents.”
Having established that an embryo is a human-person, there is no difference between an embryo with unfit parents and a 3 or 13-year-old with unfit parents. Do we approve of the murder of a 3 or 13-year-old for having unfit parents? No. Then neither is an embryo to be sentenced to death for having unfit parents. The 3 or 13 year-old might be removed from the home by the government and placed in a foster home, but they are not murdered. Think about it, would anyone for even one second say that they know a family who is not well off and therefore their 13-year-old should be murdered?
Moreover, who made us satan to determine whether that a child born to unfit parents will be without question a lost cause? This maliciously pessimistic argument assumes that the child will suffer so much that they are better off dead. If we actually carried this theory into practice then the grand majority of the world’s population would not exist as they have been born into less than desirable conditions. This argument also stinks of elitism: those living in a wealthy nation pretend the right to decide how much financial stability a household must have in order to be allowed to bear children. No indeed, Big Brother is not to convince us that an innocent child is to be executed because a third party decided that the parents are unfit.
