Aleister Crowley’s influence on Tyler the Creator and Jay-Z

Having written much about Aleister Crowley and his influence upon pop-occulture I will herein continue considering personages who have looked to the to mega therion / the great beast for inspiration. Find our previous articles on Crowley here—which range from L. Ron Hubbard’s Scientology to Damien Echols (of the West Memphis Three-WM3 murders infamy) and much, much more.

The following is translated from Paolo Baroni’s Italian site, “Tutti Pazzi Per Crowley [Something about Crowley],” Centro Sangiorgio, December 27, 2013 AD.

JAY-Z

“During an interview for the music video for Run This Town with Rihanna and Kanye West…Jay-Z was wearing a black shirt (Which costs $600!)…[with] the motto of Aleister Crowley Do What Thou Wilt.”

Moreover, Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce have made displaying occult imagery and hand signs a cottage industry.

He has sold Freemasonry laced clothing under his clothing line Rocawear. His record label is Roc-A-Fella. Both names appear to be pointing to the Rockefeller family. He has also gone by the name “Jayhovah the God M.C.” He and Beyonce constantly display the triangle / pyramid hand sign.

She has appeared wearing a Baphomet outfit and an outfit based on the robot from the 1920s AD movie “Metropolis” (the robot which is seen sitting under an upside down pentagram and into which is downloaded the mind of a human woman—this is in the 1920s folks!!!). She has also depicted herself in the place of Jesus in the last supper painting. And there is much more to note about them both.

TYLER THE CREATOR
He in the “alternative hip hop collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All” (OFWGKTA) can be seen “wearing one of His creations: a t-shirt on which there is the face of Aleister Crowley.”

Also, OFWGKTA lyrics are peppered with references to rape and even necrophilia. They also rap about satanism even though Tyler claims to be an Atheist—well, satanism and Atheism are bedfellows after all (see here).
