Censorship comes in many forms and in our culture it comes in the form of a narrative based on emotive pragmatism. For example, the average person does not want to be thought of as being hateful thus, they will censor themselves so as to not engage in the “hate speech” de jour—and word/term restriction leads to or is a result of restriction of thought. We had the advent of “free speech zones” which refers to predetermined parameters outside of which you speak at your own risk. We now have a “fake new” trend and since the average person wants to be well and accurately informed they will approve of censorship so as to be kept away from fake news.
Well, “safe places” or “safe spaces” which are a combination of just about every form of censorship you can imagine—and many that you could not as they are being dreamed up at a whim.
Enter LGBTQP “safe place” shops/stores such as in Orlando, FL wherein city officials have launched a program called the “Safe Place Initiative” allowing businesses to self-designate as safe places for ABH: Anything But Hetero.
The Orlando Police Dept. even has a LGBTQ liaison officer.
Makes me wonder if a program that begins via self-designation will turn into government imposition along with which will come legal fines and/or certain restrictions, more taxes, etc. if one does not comply.
Orlando city officials are currently distributing stickers that businesses can display so as to advert themselves as LGBTQP safe places/spaces. But these are not merely places in which they are guaranteed to shop in peace but are sites to which they can flee to “seek solace” when they perceive themselves to be a victim of an “anti-LGBTQ crime.”
Thus, you can see how from the outset this is turning militant as what will lead from this but an non-gender specific LGBTQP personage claiming the right to be in the store even whilst not being a customer due to the actions of alleged culprit X and so the police will have to be called and on it goes.
An indoctrinated child being made to push a sexual agenda.
Orlando’s official city website states that businesses are to “Allow victims to enter and remain at your premise until Orlando Police arrive” and “Call, or assist these victims in calling 911” and especially to do so “Even if you think the crime is insignificant, or that you don’t want to bother the police over small issues…” although it does stated, “PLEASE NOTE: Someone calling you a derogatory name is not a crime. It is constitutionally protected free speech. If the comments are accompanied by threats, threatening behavior, or physical harm, it then becomes a crime.”
One more issue to note is that there are already systems whereby to abscond form crimes, seek shelter in stores, call for police, etc. Thus, this is yet another instance of LGBTQP personages being granted not only equal rights—which they contextually already have—but special right, privileges, etc. Don’t think so? Well, where is the Orlando Police Dept. Hetero liaison officer and the stickers designating a where a hetero man or woman can “seek solace” when they perceive themselves to be a victim of an anti-hetero crime? Don’t need any such thing? Indeed, we do not because laws are in place for everyone regardless of sexual preference, orientation, expression, felling de jour, etc. and that is one of the points.
Here are two unrelated notifications which denote the fundamental illogicality of such places, spaces, zones, etc.
This one states that it is “for everyone” when by definition, as its premise safe places, spaces, zones are designed to keep certain people out.
This one states, “I am non-judgmental” which is a statement that is premised upon at least three judgments: they are judging judgmentalism to be wrong, they are judging people of being judgmental and also judging them for being judgmental.
