“There was just a massive amount of…
destruction and abuse to the family”
—Huntsville Police Department investigator Mac McCutcheon
At the age of 17 Jeffrey Franklin plead guilty to two counts of murdering his parents and three counts of attempted murder: his 6 and 9 year old brothers and 14 year old sister whom he planned on raping as well.
Franklin left behind a diary of sorts which proved that he spent a lot of time planning the crime and what he would do thereafter such as, “Even if they do catch me, I will plead insanity, and fool those stupid judges and prosecutors.” Well, one thing that his Robert Tuten, who represented Franklin, noted is that ten-times the normal dose of Ritalin was found in Franklin’s system which “pushed him into a total psychosis, he was crazy.” Then assistant Madison County District Attorney Rob Broussard notes, “I think it kind of greases the skids, so to speak…when somebody of that nature is amped up on something, it’s a, it’s a bad deal. It’s a powder keg.”
Jeffrey Franklin had a long history of being disturbed and even suicidal, he had been under the care of a psychologist.
Robert Tuten states, “I did not think he was actually devil-worshipping. His family was very staunch Catholics, and I think he was doing that out of rebellion, in an effort to make his parents mad. And I don’t there was anything else to it, other than that.” Mac McCutcheon noted that Franklin became a Christian at some point after being arrested.
In 2013 AD Franklin wrote to Madison County Judge Loyd Little, “I’m not really a bad man” which makes me want to ask: if he is not a bad man then, pray tell, who is?!?! He also wrote, “I didn’t mean to do what I did. It just happened. I have a hard time.” Well, it “just happened” after a prolonged period of premeditation. In one of his diary entries he wrote, “I’m tired of them nagging me, I’m tired…one by one, they must die.”
When he was arrested he had some sort of Satanic/occult sigil cut into his torso which seem to match a drawing he had made.
A copy of Church of Satan founder Anton LaVey’s Satanic Bible was found in his room as well as a copy of a Necronomicon which is a fictional text within the mythos of horror writer H.P. Lovecraft but has taken on a life of its own as various versions of it have been authored and published—for details, see: Satanic murder suicide of Raphael Greaves & Angela Tierney and Did Erich Von Daniken plagiarize H. P. Lovecraft?
Police Department investigator Jeff Bennett stated, “His dad actually called me six months before the crime, and asked if he thought having the Satanic bible was a big problem. I told him that it was…In Jeff’s case, he actually was, intended to sacrifice, at least two of his family members. He wrote…‘Hail Satan, shall offer up my mother and sister, to thee lord Satan.’”
In 1993 AD Eileen Janezic murdered a Huntsville pastor inside his church, she was in possession of the Satanic Bible when she was arrested. Her attorney Mark McDaniel noted, “She had a Satanic songbook, and a Satanic bible and it was very vulgar, but she would sit there and try to talk to the devil, talk to Lucifer during the trial.”
It is the same basic story with Miranda Barbour’s Satanic crimes, see Miranda Barbour: is she a satanist and are her murders Satanic crimes and especially Satanic crime – Miranda Barbour claims 22 victims.
The issue is that the within the Satanic Bible Anton LaVey assured his readers that human sacrifice murder in the name of Satan is a-okay, see “On the Choice of a Human Sacrifice” – Anton LaVey’s Satanic Bible.
Rob Broussard stated the following of the Jeffrey Franklin case, “you’re left with the feeling that there is evil present, and he is evil.” He also opinionated that Franklin’s writings and drawings were “Devil worship-based” were “Very violent” with “Overtones of a sexual nature throughout the material. There are religious themes, sort of anti-God, kind of theme that runs through it…I mean, the predominance, the predominant theme here, really is, that of Satanic worship, as you read through this material. And, very violent.”
McCutcheon said, “He just felt like that he was doing what Satan, who at that particular time, based on his writings, was his god. He was doing what Satan wanted him to do.”
