Simplicity and complexity – Darwinism vs. Creationism & Intelligent Design, part 3 of 4

In this parsed essay we will consider the fascinating juxtaposition, literally to the extremes, of Creationist and Intelligent Design preoccupation with complexity and Atheist-Darwinian-Evolution preoccupation with simplicity when it comes to the issue of life’s origins—find the whole essay here.

In any regard, Darwinian evolution does carry along with it the concept, popular at the time and astonishingly still today, that bacteria, cells, the stuff of which life is made is “simple” and simple things are easy enough to explain that they need no explanation at all. Given enough time, such things just happen, they just happen to happen, they just are, they simply come to be.

Since, such simply organisms and their simple components can just happen, as if that was any sort of scientific explanation, evolution focused on how they change. Yet, life’s origin is, still, the premise upon which evolution is ultimately based as there is not life without the origins of life.

Once we came to know that there is no such thing as a “simple” component, “simple” cell, “simple” bacteria the “it just happens to have happened” view should have been done away with once and for all. Yet, since it is attached to an atheistic worldview, it could not be let go. This has resulted in over a century of wasted time, wasted money, wasted research and wasted education as those for whom the gap was filled with happenstance did not let go of their worldview but kept seeking to justify it against all actual scientific evidence (see The Gap Filler).

It just happened has had many permutations from that it just happened when lightning struck a pond (feel free to plump this up with impressive sounding scientific language…that is what they do) to that life came into being on the back of crystals or that it came from elsewhere in space, somewhere where conditions were just right for it to just happen. As it has been stated:
…few can manage to keep up with adaptive devo punk-echthroi neo-quasi-Darwinism, or whatever the evolutionary biologists are calling this week’s spin on St. Darwin’s dangerous idea.1

The correct, proper and accurate conception of complexity within Creationist and Intelligent Design is not the talking points version.

When confronted by life’s complexity Creationists and Intelligent Design proponents study the complex nature of life in order to find out more about it and likewise to find out more about the being who brought it into being. The low hanging fruit version is erroneous. The correct one, the one that is actually proposed by those who hold to it (sans media and otherwise antagonistic misstatements of it) is that life (and actually, everything) is based on information and the only known source of information is mind.

It is reasonable to conclude that since time, space and matter came into being at a certain point then; whatever caused them was outside of, beyond, not subject to, not restricted by time, space or matter. This means the cause is timeless or eternal, spaceless not subject to the restraints of locality and immaterial or spirit or mind: in the beginning a timeless/eternal/spaceless/immaterial/spirit/mind brought time, space and matter into being.

When confronted by life’s complexity Atheist-Darwinian-Evolutionists study the complex nature of life and yet, insist upon its undersigned nature and that it had simple beginnings. They know that such forms do not just happen themselves into existence and so they fantasize about simple forms that can or could.
