Bloodlines of the Nephilim on the Beginning and End site, part 2 of 4

Under consideration is the Beginning and End site’s article Bloodlines of the Nephilim – A Biblical Study, August 26, 2012 AD (find all my segments on this here). The main point is to prove that, and how, Nephilim genetics survived post-flood even though the Nephilim drowned.

FLOOD
We are told that “Noah was chosen to carry on and re-start humanity…he was ‘perfect in his generations’ which meant that his genetic bloodline and ancestry was 100% human…had not been a part of the Nephilim hybridization…The Hebrew word for ‘perfect’ in that verse is tamiym…used to describe the condition of animal sacrifices to the Lord.” This is true but it is not as simple as that since, for example, an animal could be genetically tamiym but they it was injured then it would be ineligible for sacrifice (see Was Noah genetically “perfect in his generation”?).

At this point, it is explained how “the Nephilim giants returned” which is due to that “Noah and his family survived the flood. But the Nephilim gene came with them” which is not based on the Bible stating as much but due to the referenced text “‘There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that…’ — Genesis 6:4.”
We are told “The verse above makes it clear that Nephilim giants returned after the flood” but this is an assertion. The text does not state pre-flood and post-flood but “in those days, and also after that” which is being taken to mean pre-flood and post-flood. Yet, one can just as easily, and more in keeping with immediate as well as greater context, to take is to mean “in those days” with a timeline beginning point which verse 1 has as “when men began to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters were born unto them” which could be as early as when Adam and Eve’s offspring first started having offspring, and “also after that” being just that: after that beginning point and yet, still pre-flood.

The article rightly notes “Now nowhere in scripture is it again written that angels ever cohabited and/or had relations with human women after the flood” which, as I hinted at above, is why the genetic/DNA view is taken as to how the Nephilim returned. I will argue that there was no such thing as a return of Nephilim—nor will there be in the future for that matter. Yet, when one wants to argue this they have to come up with some way to explain it so we are told “While Noah and his sons were 100% human, we are not told the same about the wives of his 3 sons” so that “one or more of these women were carrying the Nephilim gene.”

We then come to the key post-flood Nephilim giants text which is Numbers 13 when the spies return from reconnoitering the land and report, “we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants [Nephilim], the sons of Anak, which come of the giants [Nephilim]: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”

We are told that this “shows that the Nephilim hybrids after the flood were the offspring of other giants and not angels” and that “the giants the spies saw were the sons of the Nephilim giant Anak.” Well, the Bible never tells us of the height of Anak himself.

A not very helpful image used within the article with the even less helpful, due to inaccuracy, appended statement, “By the measurements in Scripture, the original Nephilim offspring were quite larger than the average human”

—see Grading the giant human skeleton chart

We are also told that “the Israelites spies were like insects to them” and also that “these giants had special agricultural knowledge that they knew how to grow grapes so large that it took two Israelite men using poles to carry a cluster!” so that you see how much stuff you have to invent just to drive home appoint about which the Bible says little to nothing.

The main problem is tantamount to quoting Eliphas from Job because God ends up condemning Eliphas. Likewise, the spies being quoted are said to have been making a bad/evil report. Note that later in his life when Caleb relates the event he affirms having seen Anakim in the land but does not mention the Nephilim (see Did Caleb and the spies see Nephilim giants in the land?).

We are then told that “The Bible provides a specific genealogy and bloodline of the Nephilim giants after the flood that can be traced back to Noah’s own sons.”

A subsection at this point is in the form of a question, “Why Would God Allow Nephilim DNA to Make It Through the Flood?” I find that “Why” questions can be very difficult since they lead to ultimate questions that may be unanswerable as answer to a why leads to another but then why… and another but then why…. The article’s answer is “the Nephilim nations after the flood are at various times used by God as judgment against the Israelites for their disobedience.”
