Do large babies mean Nephilim births are on the rise?

As someone who holds to the view that the “sons of God” of Genesis 6 were angels1 I am most empathetic about the frustration as to how this issue is being mishandled by neo-pop-researchers—and worst yet is what the general interested public does when they simply run with the latest aggrandizement.

Such is the case with the Lunatic Outpost’s discussion thread titled Nephilim Alert! Nephilim births on the rise; JUST like Jesus said!: so the two issues are 1) Nephilim births on the rise and that this is 2) JUST like Jesus said!

The claim is, “There has been a 15 to 25% increase in babies weighing 8 pounds and 13 ounces or more in the past two to three decades in developed countries, according to 2013 report from medical journal The Lancet” and a link directs us to a Charlotte (North Carolina) Today News story which notes that “There are certain health conditions, such as diabetes, or gestational diabetes — which develops during pregnancy — that predispose women to having babies over 10 pounds” as noted by Dr. Hyagriv Simhan, director of maternal-fetal medicine at Magee-Women’s Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Wait, “certain health conditions” and not, like, having Nephilim genetics and stuff “JUST like Jesus said!”?
Dr. Simhan also stated, “Long-term health complications to the baby include obesity in childhood and potentially beyond” so we may not have to worry too much about the Nephilim as they will get winded just getting off of the couch.

Moreover, “Multiple factors contribute to large birthweight, including diabetes or family history. A woman who is 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds is more likely to have a larger baby than a 5-foot-3 woman who weighs 100 pounds” oh, a 6-foot-2 tall woman: she must be a Nephilim!

Okay, so the premise is simply inaccurate and concluding that anyone who is slightly bigger than the average must be a half human hybrid. Just because some translations have the word Nephilim as “giants” does not mean that they were gigantic. Firstly, no height range is given for them in the Bible and even giant merely means taller than average which in those days was males being 5.5 ft.

Now, someone replied with an (apparent) voice of reason, “Jesus never said anything such thing.. and I was in medicine long enough as a nurse to see quite a few births wherever I worked of babies that size.. its most common cause is diabetes in the mother but not the sole cause [sic.].”
Now, they are 100% right that Jesus never said anything such thing as biblically there is no such thing as a concept of the return of the Nephilim.

However, this same apparent voice of reason then went on to write, “Noah and may others of that time were HALF ANUNNAKI more or less. that does not make the Nephilim [sic.].” So, no, they were not Nephilim—that’s crazy talk—they were Anunnaki. To even get a hint as to what this is all about see Is the Bible an Anunnaki control mechanism?

Someone wrote, “Come on , it’s this some mockery? [sic.]” to which the reply was “Nope. Prophecy.” Well, it may not have been meant as mockery but it is most certainly not prophecy—uncles we could false-prophecy.

The supposed voice of reason then got even worse by writing, “Nope.. Jesus taught that star seeds would be coming in.. not nephilim. I realize that the bible is over pushed as the word of God but it is not the word of God. HUMAN BEINGS WHO MANIFEST THE FATHER ARE THE WORD OF GOD. The bible has incredible errors in it from many causes… [sic. and ellipses in original].”

Thus, one error leads to another, to another, to another, ad infinitum.
