Janet Morrison claims “It is in Numbers 13 that there were Nephilim in the promised land. They had to fight off the giants”

What is the meaning of Ezekiel 23:20? is a question posted to the Quora site by Glenn Davis and answered by a certain Janet Morrison who replied thusly

The woman is being compared to Jerusalem. God made a covenant with the people of Jerusalem. It was depicted as brung similar to a marriage covenant. Since God married Jerusalem, Jerusalem should not have made political alliances with other countries. They should have trusted in God to save them, not trusted in military alliances. Jerusalem is depicted as an adulterous woman who slept with Nephilim.

A woman have relations with a Nephilim is far worse than having relations with a human being. Nephilim were depicted as having semen like donkeys. Genesis 6 talks of fallen angels mating with human women producing Nephilim giant offspring. The Book of Enoch in the Ethiopian Bible, talks about how when a Nephilim died, their human bodies died, but their immortal fallen angels part, lived on as an evil spirit. So having sex with a Nephilim would be like having sex with an evil sourit in a sense.

It was because of the Nephilim corrupting the entire human race spiritually and genetically, that God used the flood to wipe out the Nephilim. If God had not of used the flood and Joshua to wipe out the Nephilim, then the human race would have ceased to exist a long time ago. Jesus said in Mathew 24, that before he returned, it would be like the days of Noah when the Nephilim were corrupting humans genetically and spiritually.

I, Ken Ammi, replied

Glenn Davis, the only reason that Janet merely imagines that Egyptians, Assyrians, Chaldeans and Babylonians refers to Nephilim is because she holds to an un-biblical fantasy tall-tale version of Nephilim—she’s been corrected many, many, many, many times but refuses correction.

It’s literally impossible that it refers to Nephilim since they only lived pre-flood centuries before Egyptians, Assyrians, Chaldeans and Babylonians existed.

She’s been told many, many, many, many times that biblically contextually, “Nephilim giant” would mean, “Nephilim Nephilim” but she’s no interested in the biblical context or usage of languages.

She appeals to, “The Book of Enoch in the Ethiopian Bible” but that 1 Enoch is in the Ethiopian canon doesn’t make that one canon uniquely correct but rather, uniquely incorrect since 1 Enoch is Bible contradicting folklore from millennia after the Torah (see my book, “In Consideration of the Book(s) of Enoch”) in fact, that cannon also contains a text titled, “The Life of Adam and Eve” which claims that when God created Adam, God commanded the Angels to worship Adam.

And by relying on unreliable sources, she asserts that evil spirit are dead Nephilim but that’s just folklore from centuries, if not millennia, after the Torah. For a biblical view, please see my article “Demons Ex Machina: What are Demons?” Demons “Ex-Machina” — What Are Demons?

Note her utter contradiction and damaging of theology proper:

She first merely asserted post-flood Nephilim but then wrote, “God used the flood to wipe out the Nephilim” but then, “God…used the flood and Joshua to wipe out the Nephilim”: that’s literally incoherent if, “God used the flood to wipe out the Nephilim” then it can’t be the case that, “God…used the flood and Joshua to wipe out the Nephilim” since Joshua was born centuries post-flood. On her view, God did it but actually didn’t do it and had to get a mere human to do what He couldn’t do.

She then manipulates Jesus—God help her—by asserting, “Jesus said…that before he returned, it would be like the days of Noah when the Nephilim were corrupting humans genetically and spiritually” but Jesus’ words, His emphasis, His points, His context, were:

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.”

But He kept speaking directly with:

“Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all—so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed” (Luke 17).

Thus, this was about examples of being unaware/unconcerned about coming judgment.

She has been corrected on all of this, and more, many, many, many, many times but keeps on spreading falsehoods on the WORLD WIDE web: imagine how accountable she is for doing that—wow! May she finally repent.

Both Glen and Ken refuse to accept that Nephilim reappeared after the flood. They ignore the fact that Numbers 13 clearly state that Nephilim were in Canaan.

Ken Ammi

“Nephilim reappeared after the flood” is a mere assertion.

Just how did they reappear after the flood?

How did they make it past the God who sought to get rid of them?

I’ve asked you those questions many, many times and you’re literally incapable of replying: you’d have to make up some un-biblical fantasy tall-tale that implies that God failed, missed a loophole, the flood was much of a waste, etc., etc., etc.

As for, “the fact that Numbers 13 clearly state that Nephilim were in Canaan” I’ve elucidated this issue to you many, many times.

You began by being generic, merely asserting, ignoring utterly fundamental issues, misrepresenting the text, etc., etc.

It’s not, “the fact that Numbers 13 clearly state that Nephilim were in Canaan” rather, it’s the fact that Numbers 13 clearly state that the original report in that chapter has a reliable account of whom was seen but Nephilim aren’t on the list, then we’re told that 10 guys whom refuse to trust in and rely on God encourage the Israelites to rebel against God’s commandments, then we’re told they present an evil report, that report contains five mere assertions, contradict and embellish the original report, they merely assert they saw Nephilim, God rebuked them to death, and there’s literally not even one single verse in the whole entire Bible that supports any of their five mere assertions.

They contradicted Moses, Caleb, Joshua, God, and the rest of the whole Bible but you consider them infallible and side with them rather than with Moses, Caleb, Joshua, God, and the rest of the whole Bible.

As for me and my house, we will side with Moses, Caleb, Joshua, God, and the rest of the whole Bible.

Please repent.

Janet Morrison

Ken, I didn’t write the Torah. It is in Numbers 13 that there were Nephilim in the promised land. They had to fight off the giants. I don’t know how you keep fighting the fact that the Bible states this. You are being illogical.

Ken Ammi

Why do you reply as if we haven’t discussed these exact issues dozens and dozens of times?

I posted our discussions on my website and can easily quote you admitting that somethings in the Bible aren’t true.

So, when you, yet again, merely generically assert “It is in Numbers 13” without asking key hermeneutical questions such as who said it, why was it said, what was the reaction to it, was it accurate, etc., you’re failing at the basic level of reading comprehension.

You also constantly language swap just to give the appearance of making a point such as, “there were Nephilim in the promised land. They had to fight off the giants.”

And you manipulated the issue since you generically cited “Numbers 13” when you know the whole issue is one single unreliable non-LXX sentence from one single unreliable evil report spoken by 10 unreliable guys whom God rebuked.

Yet, you side with them and treat them as if they were infallible rather than siding with God.

Please repent.

Janet Morrison

I have never said things in the Bible are not true. You are lying about me.

The basis of all our arguments is that I point out that there were Nephilim in the land, as stated clearly in Numbers 13. You try to dance around this issue, but it is in Numbers 13.

Ken Ammi

You, “never said things in the Bible are not true”? You should say that since there are a lot of untrue things in the Bible. Jesus called Satan a liar and the father of lies, the Bible records his lies, so are you saying that you deny he lied, do you believe Satan?

Just as with everything else, we already had that discussion.

Note the distinction of which I’ve made you aware dozens of times:

“there were Nephilim in the land”: claim of a physical existence.

“as stated clearly in Numbers 13”: a generic reference to an entire chapter that allows you to ignore that you’re really only appealing to one single unreliable sentence from one single unreliable evil report spoken by 10 unreliable guys whom God rebuked.

“it is in Numbers 13”: fails to deal with key hermeneutical questions such as: who said it, why was it said, what was the reaction to it, was it accurate, etc.

You don’t interact with the narrative, you just side with guys whom God rebuked rather than with the God who rebuked them.

Now, again (and again [and again]) you merely assert post-flood Nephilim having never once told me how they made it past the flood, past God.

And, you ignore your fundamental level contradiction, “God used the flood to wipe out the Nephilim” and/but also, “God…used the flood and Joshua to wipe out the Nephilim” even though Joshua wasn’t born until centuries post-flood so was it the case that, “God used the flood to wipe out the Nephilim” or not?
