Dr. Frederick Kenneth Price is aka FK Price Jr. whose ministry site, Ever Increasing Faith Ministries, has his bio (partially) as, “Dynamic and divinely appointed, Dr. Frederick Kenneth Price…Part bible scholar, part gamer…received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree…is shepherding his flock in a digital era where more believers congregate online…He is a fan of comic books, Japanese anime cartoons, and sci-fi fantasy…you may find him writing comics that bring biblical and modern figures to life in contemporary settings…Dr. Price was the first minister to implement a Hip Hop sermon during the main church service…”
Some of that actually explains a lot—stand by.
I sought articles by him on the contextual subject matter but found only videos with the exception of this from his ministry’s website: CCC – ENewsletter – May 2020 which is a review of his book Behind the Seen: Angels, Demons, and the Battle for the Human Soul by Director of Publications, Stanley O. Williford.
He noted, “There have been a lot of unsupported ideas and speculation taught in the past about this unseen world, but Behind the Seen offers a grand perspective backed by biblical and extra-biblical sources.”
I watched a vid wherein he was very specifically asked about, “Nephilim,” his reply was to move the goal-post to whatever he meant by, “giants” and he went directly into 1 Enoch—which is Bible contradicting folklore from centuries, if not millennia, after the Torah, see my book In Consideration of the Book(s) of Enoch.
After referring to Angels, Williford noted, “there are other spiritual entities that most Christians have no idea about” but that calls into question what he means by spiritual—especially when many writing about these issues interchange spiritual and spirit and yet, they differ: for example, a spirit proper is disembodied by definition but humans can be spiritual even whilst we are in the flesh.
Now, getting to my context, it’s noted:
In Chapter 4, he discusses the Nephilim, the giant beings that were the offspring of angels and women. Most were destroyed during the Flood, but the Bible indicates a “post-Flood resurgence of giants.” Pastor Price offers a couple of theories of such a resurgence, as well as other enticing bits of information, and he offers a theory about how demons came to be…
While the Bible may be hard to decipher in some portions, it is nice to have a rather definitive breakdown of many of the elements that are difficult to understand. In that area, Pastor Price’s book, Behind the Seen is a great eye-opener. In his study, he concludes “that demons are the disembodied spirits of ancient giants, the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (Gen. 6:4).”
Pastor Price asks in this chapter: Why didn’t God flood the earth before Noah came along? Better yet, why not when Adam rebelled, or after Cain killed his brother Abel? “What made the Flood so necessary in Noah’s day?” he asks. He believes the answer is found in Genesis 6:1-3, which says:
Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
He points out that the reference where the sons of God saw the daughters of men, but those “sons of God” does not refer to people. The reference, he says, should read this way: “the angels of God saw the daughters of men.” The angels in this case were the Watchers, he says, but apparently they watched a little too closely. The Watchers took human wives for themselves, and their giant babies were the Nephilim. “The situation was dire,” Pastor Price writes. “The Flood was God’s sweeping response.”
Biblically contextually, “Nephilim, the giant beings” would mean, “Nephilim, the Nephilim beings” so that begs the questions: what’s the usage of the vague, generic, subjective, multi-usage and modern English word “giants” in English Bibles? What’s Williford’s and Price’s usage? Do those two usages agree?
It is a shame that Williford didn’t say that, “Price teaches that most were destroyed during the Flood, and there’s no Bible indication of a ‘post-Flood resurgence of giants.’” But note the linguistics word-swap game: jumping languages from Nephilim to giants, back and forth.
That, “Most were destroyed during the Flood” implies that all weren’t. Well, that contradicts the Bible five times (Gen 7:7, 23; Heb 11:7; 1 Peter 3:20 & 2 Peter 2:5). What makes Price think that God failed, that He missed a loophole, that the flood was much of a waste, etc., etc., etc.? Also, just how did Nephilim get past the flood, past God?
Well, “Pastor Price offers a couple of theories of such a resurgence” all of which, by definition, are un-biblical fantasy tall-tales that imply that God failed.
It’s also noted, “he offers a theory about how demons came to be” which is that, “he concludes “that demons are the disembodied spirits of ancient giants, the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (Gen. 6:4).” Well, you can read that citation but it states no such thing. Rather, as per the video I watched, he also appeals to extra-biblical sources for this and merely asserts that unclean-spirits/demons are the spirits of dead Nephilim but that’s just folklore from centuries, if not millennia, after the Torah. At least he got the Angel view of that which I term the Gen 6 affair correct: The original, traditional, and majority view among the earliest Jewish and Christian commentators, starting in BC days, was the Angel view as I proved in my book On the Genesis 6 Affair’s Sons of God: Angels or Not?: A Survey of Early Jewish and Christian Commentaries Including Notes on Giants and the Nephilim.
Yet, you can discern his never ending reliance of the unreliable 1 Enoch due to the reference to, “Watchers” which is just an Second Temple Era aka for Malakim (Angels) so he’s reading that back for millennia, into Gen 6.
As for, “giant babies” that’s also from 1 Enoch which has Nephilim as being MILES tall which is great folklore but poor reality. The dirty little secret is that since we’ve no reliable physical description of Nephilim then their height is a non-issue and that alone debunks 99% of un-biblical Nephilology—the modern branch of which is just un-biblical neo-theo sci-fi tall-tales.
Interestingly, it’s noted, “‘The situation was dire,’ Pastor Price writes. ‘The Flood was God’s sweeping response’” but on Price’s view, God didn’t sweep far enough and failed.
Now, I’m going to add this at this point since I didn’t want to start with it due to not wanting to poison the well—his assertions are problematic enough without the added poison.
He whom the ministry site has as, “Apostle Frederick K.C. Price is the founder of Crenshaw Christian Center” referring to FK, Jr.’s dad.
In 2018, the Gazette Review reported on What Happened to Fred Price, Jr.? wherein it was noted, “Fred Price, Jr. was the pastor of the Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles for eight years” until it was asked, “why wasn’t he in the pulpit?”
Reportedly, “On July 25, 2017, Fred Price announced to the congregation at Crenshaw Christian Center that he would be stepping down. Citing ‘serious personal misjudgments’…Fred Price, Jr. never disclosed what his personal misjudgments were and asked that people respect his privacy as he attempted to make amends to his family…On June 1, 2018, Fred Price, Jr. returned to the pulpit…he thanked them [the congregation] for their support, despite not knowing all the details.”
Another troubling detail added by this article is, “Fred, Jr. decided to go into the ministry at age 19 after seeing Creflo Dollar” who is tragically, a stereotypical sheep fleecing name it and claim it—blab it and grab it money swindler.
Granted, sinners need repentance and can be restored. It’s odd that his (mostly cyber) congregation has no idea why he had to make amends to his family nor what safeguards have been put in place in terms of accountability: how do you hold someone accountable to not do what you don’t know they did?
Now, my point is mentioning this wasn’t to poison, it was to mash it together with that he’s, “divinely appointed…gamer…a fan of comic books, Japanese anime cartoons, and sci-fi fantasy” who’s actually into, “writing comics” and that explains a lot since it seems that part of his reemerging into the spot light has him doing what all too many pop-Nephilologists do: they write novels they admit are fiction and produce comics, etc.
My discernment of why they do that it that what they claim to teach as biblical truths are actually already neo-theo-sci-fi-tall-tales so it’s no stretch at all to just come right out and produce works of admitted fiction since that’s what they’ve been teaching all along.
And so, FK Price, Jr., is the latest on the long list of people who weren’t on the Nephilology radar at all but suddenly are everywhere as some sort of authority when he’s really just parroting the pop-Nephilology dogma: un-biblical fantasy tall-tales sold to Christians.
