Islamophobia in Pamela Geller’s “Draw Muhammad” contest day

Much is being reported regarding Pamela Geller’s “Draw Muhammad” contest day. Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi showed up to commit mass murder but only managed to injure one police officer whilst his partner shot the two dead on May 3, 2015 AD, in Garland, Texas.

If you notice, many, many news stories focus, specifically and exclusively on “Elton Simpson” as the name “Nadir Soofi” appears to be uncomfortably Islamic. Uncomfortably, that is, for a media that has been trained to deny that Muslim terrorists are Muslim.

Along these line, note that I previously wrote What no one is asking about the NYC “anti-Islam” billboards and also Comedy Central Compliments Christianity about how they have no problem with drawing and mocking Jesus but will not dare do the same with Muhammad.

Then there are, of course, past “art” displays of a crucifix in urine, dung piled upon a painting of Mary and many others which are irrelevant, as far as the government, media and pop-culture are concerned because it is not Islamic so then do what thou wilt appear to be the take home lesson.

But when it comes to, say Terry Jones and the Koran / Qur′an burning fracas and my Celebrate the 1,365th annual burn the Qur′an day it is a different story.

The Islamophobic aspect of Pamela Geller’s “Draw Muhammad” contest day is not the “Draw Muhammad” contest day but the media reports that Pamela Geller is to blame because the event incited hatred and violence.

It is intolerant, lacking in the celebration of diversity and offensive to claim something to the likes of that Muslims are somehow and for some reason an especially crazed class of people and that they are ready to go on murderous sprees as a result of being incited.

Islam is one of the youngest of the world religions. The Encyclopedia of Wars (New York: Facts on File, 2005 AD) was compiled by nine history professors who specifically conducted research for the text for a decade in order to chronicle 1,763 wars. The survey of wars covers a time span from 8000 BC to 2003 AD. From over 10,000 years of war 123 wars, which is 6.98 percent, are considered to have been religious wars.
Moreover, half of those involved Islam. So in its relative youth: Islam accounts for half of all religious wars (and that does not account for terrorist acts by Islamic organizations and individuals).

Yet, this does not mean that we, especially within the USA, should allow the media to make us afraid that the friendly Muslim next door will go on a murderous spree due to being incited.
