Neil deGrasse Tyson’s “Cosmos” fact or fiction?

Neil deGrasse Tyson is to revisit Carl Sagan’s show “Cosmos” starting March 9, 2014 AD.
“…a long time for a sequel to Carl Sagan’s groundbreaking documentary series Cosmos — 33 years, to be exact…is meant to take the groundwork of Sagan’s brilliant 1980 series and expand it for modern audiences…according to Tyson… ‘[Cosmos] spent time learning—exploring—how to make science matter to you, as a human being, as a citizen, as a species with the capacity to reflect on its own existence. And those kind of messages are timeless…They’re layered onto whatever is the science of the day, but it’s the science of the day that gives us knowledge about how to think about our place in the universe.’
Sagan’s widow Ann Druyan, who co-wrote and produced the first series along with Sagan and Steven Soter, is producing Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey…’”
The show is putting together an odd group of heavy hitters such as director Brannon Braga (Star Trek: The Next Generation), director of photography Bill Pope (The Matrix trilogy), Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad, etc.), et al.
“‘As humans, we like hearing stories,’ Tyson said. ‘We have what I think is the greatest story ever told: the story of the universe, and our place within it, and how we came to discover our place within it. And finally, we have the methods and tools to bring that to the screen.’”
Appearing at Comic Con, Neil deGrasse Tyson, “explained why it’s time for a new iteration of the beloved astronomy documentary, and how he and his team of scientists and entertainers hope to engage and enlighten a new generation of viewers.” Braga stated:
“There are always dark forces of irrational thinking. Science is always relevant. Reality is relevant. Nature is relevant. A believable view of the world that is real is relevant…Science doesn’t have to be the opposite of religion in terms of its emotional value. Science can move you like any other story. Science can be a visceral, emotional experience. Religion doesn’t own awe and mystery. Science does it better.”
So, have your quaint religion but step aside for the real reality of science, as a worldview by the way. And what does Comic Con (a convention about comic books) have to do with Cosmos? Well, one thing is certain, it was a not so comic con job.
Druyan stated that “Seth has been our champion” and MacFarlane shows, especially Family Guy, are virtually premised on anti-Christian sentiments (and portraying pedophilia a being hilarious):
“MacFarlane suggested that ‘Cosmos’ portray [certain] scientists in animated sequences…Tyson and the crew were skeptical that animation could deliver the necessary gravitas, but the final product wowed them — as well as the audience at an NYCC panel. The sequence depicted scenes from the life of Giordano Bruno, an Italian astronomer who was one of the first Renaissance scholars to propose the existence of a boundless universe.
In the gorgeous clip, which looks like something out of a papercraft graphic novel, an imposing cardinal, cloaked in shadows, kicks Bruno out of the Dominican order of monks for reading banned literature. Bruno then has a dream in which he flies past the boundaries of the traditional Ptolemaic solar system and sees the infinite vastness of space beyond. The clip garnered no fewer than two full sessions of riotous applause from a packed theater.”
So, here we go with the farce of science vs. faith (throw in a little flat Earth while you are at it—which, by the way, is a secular myth, see here. Also, read up on Galileo here and Copernicus here).
We are told that this will be the “greatest story ever told” as it, apparently, is the job of science to tell the “story of the universe”; well, okay, as long as we keep it to cosmogony, cosmology and astronomy. But the story also includes, “our place within it” which is certainly not the domain of science unless it is expressed purely in terms of biology. Yet, since the premise is Atheism and the host is an Atheist missionary they will turn biology (an actual science) into evolution (a philosophy).
They will have special effects and animation in the manner whereby evolutionists generally use it; in order to invent evidence out of thin air. For example, how do life, the universe and everything come from nothing, uncaused, unplanned, etc.? Look here is the animation! Yes, boys and girls; no one caused nothing to exploded for no reason and made everything without meaning. Or something, actually; an eternal uncaused first cause of a dot—an eternal, uncaused first cause, which created everything…the “god” of Atheism.
The very premise of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos was not scientific, “The cosmos is all that is or ever was or ever will be.” Rather, this is a purely faith based statement; based on Sagan’s Atheism—faitheism. And it is this faith, and not science, which forms the backbone of Cosmo originally and in the new version:
“the creators aren’t looking to preach to the space-loving converted. Instead, they’ll use the show’s network placement and prime-time slot to reach the people who might not have found the series otherwise. ‘We’re doing exactly what Carl Sagan would have done, which is to go to the broadest possible audience and try to touch each and every person,’ Druyan said.’”
But reach them with what? The fact is that Neil deGrasse Tyson is one of very, very, many, many Atheist missionaries who conducts his proselytizing whilst well hidden behind the title of “scientist.” The claim here is not that he is not an actual scientist but that he uses his position to preach Atheism in the form of, under the guise of, behind the veneer of, science.
Consider, as a mere example, what Tyson stated at the Atheist fest, the Beyond Belief Conference held in San Diego in November of 2006 AD (during Session Two):
“I want to put on the table, not why 85% of the members of the National Academy of Sciences reject God, I want to know why 15% of the National Academy don’t. That’s really what we’ve got to address here. Otherwise, the public is secondary to this.”
Fellow Atheist missionary hiding behind science, Larry Krauss replied:
“It’s hard to know how to respond to Neil, ever. But the question you asked about, ‘Why 15%,’ disturbs me a little bit because of this other presumption that scientists are somehow not people and that they don’t have the same delusions—I mean, how many of them are pedophiles in the National Academy of Sciences? How many of them are Republicans? [laughter] And so, it would be amazing, of course, if it were zero. That would be the news story. But the point is I don’t think you’d expect them, in general, to view their religion as a bulwark against science or to view the need to fly into buildings or whatever. So the delusions or predilections are important to recognize, that scientists are people and are as full of delusions about every aspect of their life as everyone else. We all make up inventions so that we can rationalize our existence and why we are who we are.”
Here is Tyson’s reply with emphasis added:
“But Lawrence, if you can’t CONVERT our colleagues, why do you have any hope that you’re going to CONVERT THE PUBLIC?”
He was not speaking of science but about converting their colleagues and public to Atheism. Now, he has been granted public, broadcast TV, access to do just that—in the guise of science.
At the same conference, Neil deGrasse Tyson stated:
“At our museum in New York, the American Museum of Natural History, they [Christians] come to the Big Bang exhibit and sometimes I don’t feel like having that conversation. I say, ‘Why don’t you go to our hall of human biology first and then come to us.’ And that’s where we have sort of monkeys holding hands with people in skeleton forms and then they never make it back to the Big Bang. They’re gone forever, okay. So however egregious the Big Bang is, monkeys and people is a worse transgression, apparently.” (laughter)
He does not even see it; he sends people to look at “sort of monkeys” who are made to hold hands with people and calls that science. The Christians can see that the mockup is just that, mockery and not actual science. The missing evidence from monkey to man (as Darwin put it) or ape to man (as some put it) or the un-evidenced mythological creature known as a common ancestor to man (as others put it) is displayed via clever artisan constructions. So, the Christians do not go from that mockery to being told that a dot exploded and here we are to discuss it. They can see it for what it is; publically funded museums of Atheist mythology and not natural history.
Lastly, consider what is going on behind the scenes via “An Open Letter to All Public School Science Teachers from Ralph J. Cicerone, President, National Academy of Sciences”:
“I agree with Neil Tyson, Richard Dawkins, the ACLU, the Institute of Medicine, the Darwin Day organizers, and the signers of the Clergy Letter Project that this God Hypothesis is anti-science, the work of religious fanatics, and a vicious brand of science misrepresentation. We, who are part of atheistic evolutionary science, understand the myths that surround the work we do, and the students and teachers we serve. This God Hypothesis plays out the basest form of this mythology.”
This is what is going on behind the tax payer funded federal public schools. They do not smuggle Atheist in via the back door, they bring it right in through the front door and you are paying for it in more ways than one!
