Yoga news: Kermit the frog and public school yoga

The ultimate answer is discernment because when you prove that teaching and practicing Yoga, which is a Hinduism religious practice, in tax payer funded public schools goes against the law or curriculum, etc. then the law or curriculum can simply be changed.

In the past we explained exactly what Yoga is in What is Yoga? Yoga in public schools.
We then showed how, at least, one public school’s Yoga curriculum not only contained Hindu terminology but symbols as well: The Encinitas United School District’s public school Yoga curriculum

Then we showed how that school linked to a magazine that recommend performing Yoga as is but with the terms changed so as to fool people into believing that it is not Hindu: Yoga in public schools: Tolerance Magazine

Our most recent jaunt into this issue showed that a judge claimed that since Yoga has been watered down in the USA it is no longer religious: USA judge corrects Hindus: yoga not religious

Well, the issue of Yoga in tax payer funded public schools has kept rearing its Hindu head for decades now and the latest version comes in the form of Albuquerque (New Mexico) Public Schools (APS) promulgating “YOGA with Kermit the Frog Sun Salutation.”

Example from the APS site.

Children are being appealed to via the usage of a beloved muppet and are thus being indoctrinated into pagan, Hindu, sun worship.
This is no more or less than a fact but, indeed, when someone proves this (as we will do below) APS can simply change the terminology and call it that which they will. This way, children attending tax payer funded public schools will still be doing the very same thing but hiding it behind a new, deceptive, term.

Let us consult with Wikipedia’s entry on Surya Namaskara as this will make for a relatively unbiased resource:

“Surya Namaskara…also known in English as Sun Salutation (lit. ‘salute to the sun’)…origins lie in India where they worship Surya, the Hindu solar deity …Surya Namaskara may also refer to other styles of ‘Salutations to the Sun’.” [emphasis added for emphasis]

Of course, from the APS given name alone, sun salutation, the pagan religious nature of the practice is obvious as one only salutes sentient beings; thus the Sun is being treated as a living being and this is a theological position.

More from Wikipedia:

“Raja of Aundh…stressed on the ancient origins of this procedure…Other sources which cite early use of ‘Sun Salutations’ are A Short History of Aryan Medical Science from 1896, which claims that in India ‘…some of the Hindus set aside a portion of their daily worship for making salutations to the Sun by prostrations. This method of adoration …’…[the text] ‘Tricha calpa vidhi’ from ‘Aditya Puranam’…describes the vidhi as ‘Modes of rendering homage to Sun, with praise and spells …’…further notes…12 names of the Sun [the sun salutation consists of 12 poses] according to the monthly signs of zodiac …elaborate rituals as the part of the vidhi…traditionally influenced by spirituality. Many physical practices have ingrained spiritual values in them. In addition spiritual training is considered as a part of physical training from ancient times in India.” [emphasis added for emphasis]

So, the proof is in the muppet and religion, but only New Age religions and Atheist Darwinism, are coming into the tax payer funded public schools; not via the back doors but right to through the front and with the approval of school boards and many parents. There is no modern day separation between ashram and state.

Discernment is the key.
